Age of empires 3

This game is great. i went through a long phase of playing this a lot (especially after free trade/staking was taken out of runescape back in the day. It was very very fun...building your own town, building walls, protecting it, and attacking other real players online. It was a unique game that i loved to play. It was a blast. anyone agree?

 

Never played Age of Empires 3 but I was an Age of Empires 2 player and I really like it, It was very fun playing against other people online using hamachi Did you play AoE 2? If yes which one is better 2 or 3? And why?

 

Sorry, but AoE 3 is terrible. AoE 2 will always be better. . . I still play it online using GameRanger, love it.

 

That's what I heard and that's why I never played AoE 2, but I think I should give it a try. Why is it terrible in your opinion?

 

I still play AoE3, it's a great game and has pretty good graphics.

 

Meh i dislike AOE3 for one reason, i dont wanna see muskets -_-. Swords were cool,muskets are not. SO id recommended AoE2

 

I enjoyed AoE 3 for quite a while after it came out.

I stopped playing because I didn't really have anyone to play with though, and the campaign was kinda boring.

After reading this thread I think I'm gonna reinstall it on my new computer though, hehe. Still got the disk.

I definitely agree. AoE 2 was WAY better than AoE 3.

 

yeah i have played both aoe2 and aoe3. i honestly played aoe2 so long ago that i cant remember much of it but i know i loved it. i also was into aoe3 for a long while and loved it. very fun game. it is hard to tell which id prefer as i have such a vague memory for aoe2. but man are they great

 

There just isn't enough to build with age of empires 3. All the races seem like the exact same thing.

 

the "races" (i think u mean civilizations), do each have different perks and each have different pros and cons. but i guess i can understand why u might think the differences are not substantial.

 

Yes, it is a great game, just like all the other Age Of Empires games, but the online community isn't the best.

And yes, AOE2>AOE3

yeah the online community is one of the main reasons i decided to drift away from the game. It got to a point where i could wait an hour+ just to get a game... that is just not a practical way to spend your time haha

I haven't played any AoE game for a long time now, they were pretty fun.

 

yeah man they are/were a blast. i would probably still play if the fan base/online community was bigger :\

 

Age of Empires was great, I played all 3 of them (AOE, AOE2, & AOE3).

They are all amazing imo, and I still play AOE3 from time to time because there are more active players, but they're all great.

Good news is, they're making AOE4, not Ensemble Studios though, Microsoft shut them down, but the employees of that went to Robot Entertainment and they're the ones making it.

AOE4 is like Runescape and online multiplayer game, and it will be coming out later in 2011. I hope it meets the expectations.

Yer i liked the campaign on aoe3 but that was about it, used to play alot of aoe2, used to be a massive community on the microsoft gaming website hundreds of people would play but microsoft abandoned it =[

Castle blood custom map was best custom game i ever played on any of the aoe series.
