Everything Dropping?

Any of you economic gurus know what is causing all the high leveled items to drop? Bandos, armadyl, claws, dfs.

 

People are expecting the free trade/wildy update to be implemented.
So theres a lot of people who want to cash in their items just in case prices go down, ironically its them who are causing the decline so far.

 

Exactly ^ with wildy coming people think prices will drop but whats causing them to drop atm isnt free trade or wildy its all the selling, and the prices will just rise once everyone needs to buy the stuff there selling to pk with. I think the prices will drop and even out to a more reasonable price then they were in the past couple months however.

 

TBH, things like d claws will go up if anything, especially because everyone will be pking and staking for ages for the next few weeks after the update.

 

Well I am debating whether to sell my stuff...I just bought dfs and claws last week, and already lost about 10m or so.

 

Sell all your items that are worth a fair bit. Chances are everyones dumping everything because free trade is coming back very soon. Which means that all the prices will be handled by us again. Expect them to be big.

 

People are also Dumping their Items because Of the New Life points armor who is comming out soon,But like always they will rise but not too much.

 

Personally I have sold anything worth over a couple of mil and invested fully in lobsters which at the moment have crashed but will no doubt sky rocket with the update release.

When it comes to items likes claws it really depends on which way Jagex goes with the update.
For example, they could get rid of any item protection at all. Meaning a huge drop in demand for claws.

 

Also, some people are selling items because they are quitting rs because of school starting again, etc.

 

Just a note to those that are investing loads of money. You guys are taking a huge risk by investing right now. This update will remove trade limits in the GE, so there will be tons of people who will be selling items relativity cheap since their only concern is making cash fast. So even if the "recommended price" (price for an item shown in GE but not enforced) rises, it will be useless if there's plenty selling way below this price. They will change the algorithms for the GE. Now there will also be a plentiful of members selling items like in the old days at Varrock, Falador, etc. Unless the new algorithms take into account transactions outside the GE to price items, these members will most likely make the GE useless.

That's just my opinion. It seems there's way too much hype about merchanting due to this update. What Im doing is simply hoarding items I obtain until this update occurs, if it happens.

 

Like people have said their cashing in on their items while limits still exist. When free trade comes back everything will be controlled by market price and there is no telling how much items will become, so its safer to cash in now.

Items I think are worth buying now are anything related to pking, which will surely increase if Wilderness comes back: super sets, brews, sharks, super restores, prayer pots, claws, ags, torags, +str gear, etc etc etc.

On top of that I expect a lot of players who quit back when Wilderness was removed will be starting to play again. They will be now coming back and getting the new prayers and potentially herblore for overloads should it be allowed in the Wilderness. This will see an increase in Dragon Bones and Herbs.

Everything will continue to drop right up until free trade, then prices are going to become very inaccurate for a while until market price averages settle.

Be smart with what to get rid of now and what to invest in now!

 

In my opinion I have gone with lobsters because end of the day the increase in F2P pking is going to be huge and the demand is going to skyrocket meaning that you can easily sell at a very good profit in the rush before a solid price emerges.

 

Sorry, but prices for pvp items won't rise for sure. You're only taking into account the demand expected for the items. Your not taking into account the amount of players that will sell the items under priced to get a few quick GP, the supply which will obviously increase for items such as foods and pots (since the majority of players now are preparing for the update if it happens), and a lot more.

People right now are only looking at this as creating a high demand by holding out on items believing demand will increase enough to result in an increase of price. This won't work out. If free trade is back, you will have to create a LARGE demand for the items through a ridiculous quantity of items. At the moment it is easy to merchant due to the GE limits since the GE the only way of trading large amount quickly. With free trade it changes the game for merchanting, the rules won't be the same.

To be honest, people have created too much hype over this without taking in everything possible into account. Its not so simple if the update occurs.

 

Lobsters is a decent investment imo. They are relatively cheap atm, I didn't even take F2P pking into consideration. Rune Scimmys and Rune 2h could be other safe investments although every item is risky without limits.

It's the new armor causing the panic. People think it's going to be easy to get, but I mean come on the boss has 25 different attack styles. He is also the hardest boss yet. I'm holding on to my 3rd age, because I know it's going to rise.

 

I'm pretty sure it not due to the new armor coming up. All items related to pvp (armor, weapons, potions, food) and even some other non pvp items are dropping. It may be related to some armor drops but its not the main reason.

 

i have learned some good tips from this thread . i will most likely invest in a variety of things: lobs, sharks, bones, pots, etc.

If you honestly believe that 100% you're ignorant. You're not taking everything into consideration. People that acknowledge that investing towards profiting of this update have an idea at least of what variables to calculate.

On a personal note, your post seems to be useless and seems as its you're posting for PC
