Removal of Trade limit -vs- Rare Prices

ok guys, ive decided to make this discussion to see what people think will happen with phat/rares prices on sythe.
at the moment there are not too many phat buyers as people need atleast 500m to buy 1. at the moment, it roughly costs us$220.00 + 520m RSgp for a red phat. once trade limit is gone, people will be able to buy a phat for only US$.

Questions, i would like to discuss:

1. What prices (US$) do you think rares will rise to?
2. what prices (US$) will RSGP rise to?
3. will the trade limit removal change the price of lower rares? masks/santas.
4. alot of people will be after higher rares once the trade limit is gone, what positive/negative reaction will occur from this?


Lets talk

 

rares will rise because you will be paying the cost for the gp+the item

GP will fall because it will be much easier to transfer

 

I doubt if you had a santa in real life it would rise to 100m Price of gp will go down to prob 80 cents per mill. Phats will continue to rise and santas/ masks will fall then continue to rise like they always do.

 

Well that's a good idea in general.

Instead of paying $400 and 400M in-game, maybe just pay $800 and get it free in-game? That's what I see as happening

 

I think you could get gf'd by jagex if you do this.

 

They have kept an eye on RWT when Free Trade was still available.

And I guarantee they will keep an eye on RWT after this update.

 

I hope rares crash at 200 miles per hour.. I hope they go down to the prices they used to be like in 08, 07, 06 ect..

only if you get reported for RWT. whatst he difference to buying a phat from sythe now?
you pay trade price + RL cash. yet if you was to buy 1 off rs forums, you would be paying alot more then trade price + you would get alot of junk. They know this.

anyways, you could always turn around and say, he is a friend and gave it to you, there is no rule saying you cant give free stuff.

 

My prediction is that.

There going to go down at first, because junk will be useless, and people sketchn and getting rid of them (already happening with lower rares)

Also because inflation wont be as prominent because of the removal of pvp worlds. so the value of gp in the long run will increase.

So its going to wildly fluctuate the first few months then be back to normal, i predict in say 6 months, for them to be going for the current ge trade price.


I think the lowest purple will hit is like 300m.


Or possibly the returning of old player's with hoarded rares will sell them to buy newer gear, thus creating more supply and lowering there price.

 

Well atm phats are traded for market value + about $1 per 10m street value.

Seeing as after the update you can instantly convert the phat's previous street value into gp, it seems probable that the prices of phats will increase quite a bit.

I wouldn't really want to put a number on it because that depends on where the phats settle.

 

i personally dont think they will go lower then the trade price they are at now.
people only started selling with junk to rise the rare prices. if the trade limit was never introduced, i still believe purple would have risen to 1.1bil etc.

it will be interesting to find out.

 

I would just wait it out and see. I dont see the partyhats blue/white to be going anywhere in prices. Blues were 550M BEFORE ge came out. In a less inflated economy.

 

With G.E. being non limited the 5% drop/rise per day will allow Rare to CRASH. they will go to prices they were at before update as in 125(Purp)m-500(Blue)m and everything in between

 

I distinctively remember right after the ge/limits was introduced phats crashing
and purple hitting 60m


then they kept going up till it hit 500m+

 

I think up then down until it stabilizes.

 

Ok so i saw someone mention the RWT and how Jagex ill be watching it. This is true however Jagex knows people are going to go crazy the first little bit of free trade being back. They will be moving stuff from their other accs to their mains, and at the same time people will be buying gold, other people will be giving "Gifts" again so for the first few months id emagine that alot of people will be getting away with it.

 

I think that the prices of rare items will crash.
Just guessing and hoping.

 

I think rsgp will crash to really cheap in the beginning, then later on they will become more expensive then they are now. mainly because the pvp loot system brought in hundreds of billions a day that wouldn't have gotten into the game with the old wildy system. for example a whip you pked. someone loses one, you get one. no new money brought into the game. so mills will rise in long therm

I don't have a clue about rares tho, I think they will all crash in the beginning.
