    Red Face

Whenever I have attention on me, my face turns bright red. I'm never embarrassed to be in front of everyone, or have the attention on me, until it turns red.

I have a speech to do Wednesday (oral presentation) and just wanted to know if there were any ways I can stop my face to turn red. I've heard that wearing a red shirt makes it not seem so obvious. But what else can/should I do?

I'll also be memorizing the whole thing.

Take deep breaths before you go up as a precaution. I have nervousness when i do a speech too and calming yourself helps. Next dont look into their eyes ever look at the bridge of the nose, it'll make it look like your looking a their eyes but your not. That way if you all of a sudden get eye contact you dont freak out.

I used to get this a lot, it got so bad at one stage when I was just riding the bus I would turn bright red because I thought the people behind me were looking at me, I just got practising ways of stopping it, every time I feel the "heat" start to go to my face, I just thought of something to distract me.

As for the speech thing, I'm doing a college course which requires me to give presentations almost on a weekly basis, I can do them easily now, the first few times I looked at the presentation board and pretended I was alone, it was the Q&A at the end which I was most worried about, but once you get up there and give your presentation you really do calm down, it's sort of like an "adrenaline" thing, you know?

Well I'm not that bad, it's just when there's attention on me. Even sometimes when my parents talk to me, not even about anything bad, my face turns red. And that's weird considering I'm super close with my parents, and I'm obviously not embarrassed to talk to them, I'm not sure why it happens.

Thanks guys, still looking for solutions.

Edit: I asked a while ago on Yahoo answers, and one guy told me that there's some pills you can take to make it not happen? I'm not going to do drugs in school, so please don't post anything like that.

I always found the best way to get rid of problems like this is to do it more often... Get one or more friends and explain the situation to 'em. Practice your speech in front of them. Doesn't matter if you get extremely red on your first few attempts; you'll adjust sooner or later. Once you get the hang of it, try giving your speech while looking at them in the eyes.

    How big is the speech?

I always pretend as the whole thing is a joke, what you get outta this is that you smile during the whole speech, and you dont get a red face.
    I always do this.

My face also gets red when embarrassed. Taking deep breaths usually reduces it. Other than that you just have to get over it. So you're a little nervous just move on with your presentation.

Kind of numb your face before presenting? Maybe keep an ice pack on you and rub it on your face before you present. Just throwing out a random idea..

Right now thinking about it honestly just wants to make me throw up. I hate oral presentations. But I'm a super talkative guy, and have a lot of friends in school, and talk all the time. It's just something about having the attention of the whole class on me...
