Remove the User Educator Rank

First off I'm not bashing on the UE at all. I personally think the UE is a great group and can be a big asset to the community. Although I don't see why you need to add a rank to the group. There are other things such as Official Guide Verifiers that would need a rank over the UE. This would also solve the issue of people trying to join the UE just for a rank.

Basically I don't see why a group of people helping others really needs a rank. When some one like a moderator or an OMM has a rank it's used to show their statue on the site and what they do around here. I don't think a UE member needs one because they are suppose to help and teach other members and I don't see why that needs a rank. I support the UE but I don't see a reason for the rank. Thoughts?

I don't agree with you on removing the UE rank however I do agree on making ranks for Official Verifiers etc..

Your right, it does. When we talked I looked at the UE and I think it's a great group of people and I will be applying again whether this is accepted or denied but this will help weed out those who are interested just for the rank and don't care about actually helping others.

 

Ok... we get it, you're mad because you were denied from UE.

I trust HUE judgement that the ranks are only awarded to those deserving, an attestment of their contributions to this website - it seems fair that the very select few chosen to be an User Educator are awarded with this right and they aren't given unsparingly. If you aren't an active UE your rank and perms are removed, so there is work for them to be done to uphold their positions as leaders of this website. The system works fine. I see no reason why there shouldn't be a rank. That's how I see it, No support.

 

Figured sooner or later some one would say that. I think the HUE deserve the rank for running the whole program but why do people who their sole purpose in the group need a rank? Then you have other people like OGV that need the rank to show they verify guides but they don't get them.

 

Support, it needs to be removed, or UE system needs to be changed, only a few can not vote to accept you or not, it needs to be atleast 10 people.

 

You're sorta mixing apples with oranges. So far your only argument against the UEs having a rank is that OGVs don't have one, which is a little different. Remember, once upon a time UEs didn't have ranks and just because OGVs don't have them now doesn't mean it won't be looked at in the future.

Back onto the UE rank situation, the main point of the rank is to tell the community we're a certain (and in th UEs case, basically official) group of members dedicated to help and educating you, the community. It allows members to know where they can go for help.

Another point, anyone with common sense knows that the UE rank doesn't mean anything whether in Market cases or whatnot. It does to give extra trust or knowledge, nor respect or power. Just because a few members believe that is what it is, doesn't mean that is its purposes.

 

Anyone else find it funny only those who were denied support its removal?

When I asked around for the purpose of the rank no one ever gave that answer but I believe your right. This thread can be closed. He gave me a good sufficient answer.
