RiD is a scripted AI, or just allot of "ElseIf".

The people at RSBot are planning to implement this in their next bot.

You do realize that you have to download the runescape jar in order to run it in a web browser... right?

    Um. No.
    neXus ~20MB
    runescape jar ~1MB
    Feel free to check yourself.

    RuneScape download: http://world23.runescape.com/runescape.jar
    neXus download: http://impsoft.info/download.php

Private servers were made by reverse-engineering the runescape client. The runescape client is ~1MB.

You don't understand reflection at all.

    http://java.sun.com/developer/technicalArticles/ALT/Reflection/

Yes, any server you connect to has your IP address (obviously) and any information that is sent via HTTP request headers (which can be changed with little to no effort). How is information sent via HTTP request headers going to get somebody banned for botting?

    ^Nice spam.

    Jimmy thanks for the comments.

    1. Yes, I do understand that you have to download the RS.jar in order to play the game. I never knew that the it was 1mb that seems extremely small but I'll take your word on it. I am pretty sure that Jagex can detect if you are loading the game through a normal web-browser or via some 3rd party client.

    2. Thanks for backing me up...

    3. Thanks for the info would you mind explaining the process of reverse engineering the client to do this?

    4. Yeah I thought I was right on this one to. My understanding of reflection is that it downloads the different java .classes and then can read (or write although Nexus doesn't use this) the data, scripts can then dig from this data like any normal library.

    5. I never said you could get banned by this. I simply stated that if you are suspect already to using a bot Jagex may check to see if you are running a 3rd party client which could confirm their original suspicions.

    Thanks Jimmy!

....all this just to get better stats/more gp on a video game. Seems like this should be used for something more worth while.

Meh, cool technology none the less, and it is being implemented in more than just the gaming field.

For the client to operate inside the the botting client the .jar needs to be downloaded. Load up any Nexus bot and notice in your terminal how it downloads the .jar file after you navigate through the setup wizard.

Again I really do not mean for this article to be taken as a "RiD is awesome and all other botting clients suck" that's not true there are many perfectly respectable clients other than RiD.

    OMFG.
I hate this thread more and more every second I see it in the rs2cheating section.

Most people here have no clue on how programs work but they all say "RiD is tha best shizz" because some douchebags advertise with some big words, its all SE (social engineering). Really! It reminds me to hitler.

    RiD aint great at all.

I love ur simple picture of an AI (A FULL AI DOES NOT EXIST) it looks like a 5 year old talking about bots. In fact, the 2 pictures are exactly the same.

"If conditions are right start chopping with predefined parameters"
Well, before this happens, RiD will check your stats and if you have a hatchet or not (Like a script would).

It will then check the current location (like a script) to know if it has to walk to the trees first or not... AND SO ON.

Btw, people call it a script because when it gets executed it starts at the top, and if it reads the end it stops.
Simple (command line) c++ and java function in the same way, python is a scripting language to.

@Thr0back: Dude, clearly you don't have a clue what you are talking about. No one is claiming that full AI exists. However AI bots use methods that simply aren't the same as a normal script. A normal script uses Boolean (If, Else) logic tests to progressively (like you said) start at the top and work it's way down.. I'm not 100% sure, I would have to talk to RiD, but I believe his bots use methods such as "fuzzy logic" in it's place. Yes, it will check your stats, like you said, and glean what it can and then operate within the set parameters in a random way. You are given a unique seed which assigns how the bot will behave within the set parameters. The major difference is that like a human it is making decisions in real-time (not working from the top down).

On another note your example of Social engineering only proves your ignorance. Social engineering in the computer science world is the manipulating people to give away information without them knowing it.

Pretty soon I'll update the A.I model to reflect fuzzy logic more clearly.

It is the "tha best shizz". At first, I hated botting. I tried Nexus and thought "eh.. this isn't very human like, but it gets the job done." Then I tried RiD and I haven't looked at Nexus since.
