Pothead Personalities?

Is it the weed that makes the person or the personality that leads the person to weed?

You all know what I mean when I speak of the personality of a pothead, I shouldnt have to try to describe it. People hate on Marijuana because they say it makes people the scum of society, careless losers, "Potheads".

Does weed cause people to have these "pothead" personalities or is it just that person being themselves? I have witnessed people go all the way up through grade school with a relaxed, "pothead" personality who eventually end up smoking alot of weed, but before they smoked weed they acted the same.

I think that based on personality, some people are more apt to be naturally relaxed, chill and likely to smoke weed and other people are just stuck up A-holes. Opinions?

 

Stoners are probably the most compliant people in the world.. theres nothing wrong with the lifestyle.

 

Thats what I mean. I think compliance is their natural personality though and therefor more likely to smoke? Less compliance would mean more stuck up and therfore less likely to smoke

 

I guess it dependes on the person, weed will def have differnt effects on people too. i disagree with "scum of society" where i live (boulder colorado) alot of people smoke weed and no one really cares, anyways time to go smoke a bowl!

 

Fuck off with your categorizations and labeling. Everyone who breathes doesn't share something in common other than the fact they all breathe together. Don't look at it as a defining action, it's just like anything else people to. It grows to be smoked. You small minded zombies who are unaware of the real world make me so mad and sad at the same time. WAKE UP

 

lol. potheads can be the nicest people in the world. it just so happens that bad people also like to smoke marijuana, and our society only points it out when they do it so it gives it a bad name. bad people smoke marijuana, marijuana doesnt make bad people in any way.

 

Actually i know a lot of people who smoke weed to be arrogant. Especially the ones in Jr High/Highschool. they think they are on top of the world.

 

In general they're more relaxed, and nicer tbh.

Nothing leads to the weed other than the people you hangout with. A lot of people are very relaxed anyway, and people think they're pot heads because of it.

 

You are generalizing and you are certainly incorrect. All the smokers i have ever seen are very insolent and arrogant, I should also point out very ignorant to the drug affects.

 

That means they aren't smoking it properly. Probably one of those kids who bum around in their room "trying" to smoke a bong and think they're getting high while listening to Dark Side of the Moon thinking they're full on stoners.

 

Ignorant to what effects? Please do inform me... Weed is no more of a drug then your basic ibuprofren.

This 'attitude' that you speak of the smokers having is in my opinion a clearer picture on life. We smokers choose not to be anal and dickheads about everything but rather see the positive. Ofcourse there are scumbags who smoke but there are plenty of scumbags who do not...

 

Weed is just a gateway from reality, I use it (not often though) when stress get's me at most. I'm an honor roll student and i'm without a doubt popular.
So it does not make or break someone's personality more than just getting away from what is real.

 

It's not even a break from reality. Its just a nice buzz, unless your looking to get fucked up. (Considering you can get fucked up on ANY medicine)

 

I think it has a lot to do with personality.

But one thing is certain there's no discrepancy in intelligence with smokers and non smokers. There's lots of people who light up that are geniuses.

 

Don't know where your from, but thats most definitely the case in my HighSchool.

 

This whole thread is whack. There no no personality traits that define a person to be a "pothead." All of my friends that I smoke with, every single one, is unique in their personalities.

 

You havn't ever heard of another smoker being able to identify another? Ofcourse it can't always be 100% true, but do you see what I mean?

 

imo, most people blaze, and the people who have the stoner personalities have had it for most of thier life, weed hasn't changed them .

a lot of the people I know that blaze don't act like stoners.

 

To start off, I don't like this term of 'pothead', because people generally see this term as 'bad'.

Most of the people who smoke become relaxed and seem to be lazy and relaxed, and IMO people see that as negative in this society. I don't understand how a person who believes in peace and relaxation should be considered the scum of the world. I thought people wanted to live in peace and harmony.

 

Using drugs to achieve that isn't what some people had in mind.
