I don't think that the admins and globals are so easily swayed that the lowly sectionals' "crappy opinions" will really influence their decision--at least where the decision was on the fence, that is.

I've seen some high pardons where an admin/global actually said, "Does anybody else have any input," probably because he felt his own view was too biased. This was admirable in my eye, and I was glad to see some sectional mods getting their voices. They might be relatively young (as in join date), relatively inexperienced, but I don't think that any of our sectionals are retarded or have crappy opinions. Hell, there are probably TWC'ed members that I'd like to see being able to chip into some RaS's, appeals, or pardons because their views are so rational and compelling.

They are good training exercises for Global preparation. Its a win-win situation. They post irrelevant stuff, we ignore it. They post info we don't know/a non emotion swayed rational decision then thats all well.

I was wondering when your next suggestion would sprout up.

I believe sectionals have the right to partake in pardons. Pardons are mostly a judge of character, etc, and so sectionals have valid opinions on the matter just like anyone else.

I agree with some points here.

That being said, I'll no longer be posting in pardons unless I absolutely know what's going on.

As long as the sectionals are able to separate their friendships and biases towards the banned user and use references to back up the way that they feel about the user I see no problem. I just hate to see the posts that state, "He's an active, legit user of our forums". These types of posts with no proof to back up their claims are useless. I don't know how one can say a user is "legit" after he/she has been caught for a crime that he/she tried to hide.

I guess that they could ignore those types of posts, as FireZ stated, but they should be encouraged to show why they feel about that user.
