New service idea

With no limits on staking comming back I think a new service could be offered.

I could for exemple ask 20$ to stake 50m with you and you'll be staking 100m.

So the formula is x$ for a zm stake against ym.

Would you be interrested in offering or asking for such a service?

Would the other person being paid be able to fight or not? if not then you might aswell pay them to stake 50M and just kill them.

Player 1: Stakes $20 + 50m.
Player 2: Stakes 100m

Player 1 is staking 50m LESS, but is also giving $20, although I think it should be 50m+ $50.

 

A gambling type service?
Similar to a casino where a buyer pays the 'casino company' (you) in order for the chance to win more money?

I don't think anybody did this then.
I don't think anybody will do this now.
If you lose 50m, big deal it's just pixels.
However this is an online game, I wouldn't want to blow $20 like that especially if I didn't get the right rules.

 

It's actually a bit more complex than that. You would pay for the stake no matter what so it wouldn't be a ''fair'' stake of 50$ + 50m against 100m, it would be paying someone so they stake more than you. The differance is that it advantages the provider of the service because he's getting cash no matter what hence the lower price of 20$.

 

So, like buying gold? But cheaper.
So as long as you have 50m and $20, you can get 100m, for basically well, $70? ($20 and $1 Retail of Gold)

 

So, basically what I said, the buyer has no guarantee of winning anything, but he has the chance of winning a lot, where as the service provider receives cash plus the chance of winning a medium amount.

Exactly it would be a form of gambling where the amounts payed and staked could be negociated according to a risk factor.

High risk exemple: 100$ for 100m-200m

Medium risk exemple: 50$ for 10m-60m

Low risk exemple: 20$ for 10m-40m

 

Spinning off of this would anybody be interested in staking real money instead of gold or items? Wouldn't mind opening up a little tournament or something, wouldn't be 1v1 or anything, would be like this.

Have an entrance fee for the tourny.
Once enough people are in (certain restrictions will be placed based level range, items, rules, ect....) that agree to the rules for that particular tourny, all that are involved find times they can log on and fight there opponent.
Single elimination style, you lose your out, you win you move to the next bracket. Last one standing wins the pot or something.

I think it would be fun to put down a little for the chance to win alot. I could even do instead of the whole pot going to the winner, have a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. So like 60% goes to the winner, 30% to 2nd place, and 10% to 3rd.
Everyone thinks there stakers are the best so why not test it out?

 

Actually that scale doesn't work if you bet a low amount I'll have to think of something else.

 

I like your idea Sheymyster but it would be hard to regulate an illegal tournament.

 

I don't think so, i would only allow trusted sythe users in the tourny of course and I would have to be present at all of the duels so I would most likely choose a designated world for the fights to occur and TRY to get them all in a night or two to limit delay an confusion. i would update the bracket system like below

until only one fighter remained and would be deemed the winner.
I would watch the duels from the "stands" to ensure no foul play is commenced. I will also make sure both players know the rules involved beforehand so there is no doubt the fight is fair and agreed upon.

I was also thinking of making a few different "classes" based on wealth, or not really wealth but at least like a tier of how much wealth you can use during the fight. So for instance I will make both players trade my account and show full invents (I won't disclose anything to either player about the contents of the other players invent, only that it qualifies for the fight), and have like

WELFARE CLASS: 1 mil and under gear
BLUE COLLAR: 1 mil to 5 mil
WHITE COLLAR: 5 mil to 20 mil
COMFORTABLY WEALTHY: 20 mil to 50 mil
RICH BASTARD: 50 mil to 100 mil
PHAT CONNOISSEUR: 100 mil and up

Just throwing some ideas around, if anyone has better ideas for the class naming feel free to suggest, was just coming up with some stuff really fast.

 

You would need a trusted mod or something to survey every duel with you.

 

Interesting idea. I'm not sure how many people would be willing to risk it, or find an even matchup for the particular stake vs the amount theyre risking
