    Botting question. (Account banning)

    Hello everyone, A quick question.

I have 5 accounts at the moment. 4 I am using to mass bot on. One is my personal account I keep safe and do not bot on.

So my question is, If say one or more of my bots are caught. Will Jagex only ban / take offence on the account(s) caught? Or will Jagex IP track it and ban all accounts INCLUDING the one I'm not botting on?

No. Jagex does not monitor IP addresses.

Any IP that has an account with macroing will be flagged for macroing(either past or present macroing will do it). Fresh IPs aren't safe.

This does not explain how people are able to consistently bot up large numbers of accounts, or how skill trainers are able to bot one account after another without having them be banned.

    I disagree with you.

Think about it, why wouldn't Jagex do it? It's ingenious. Jagex can't properly utilize it however, many different bots being used by many different people. A person caught macroing is likely to do it again. It'd aid immensely with their banning process(from the leaked .pdf)

    Yes, it would.

That doesn't mean they do do it though.
It's not really relevant to the question he asked.

Appearing new can only do nothing but good. One can only assume so much about Jagex's methods. It is relevant in that if he really cares about his personal account that he should separate from the accounts he cares not so much about(via VPN etc).

Flagging is where they realise that you have botted on one account and will monitor another too see if you are botting on your other accounts. If you get banned and flagged on a mule or something, they will follow your mains actions and see if your botting on that also, but if you play legit on that account they have no reason to ban it.

They'll only ban the accounts that you had the infractions on not your seperate ones.

They may watch your IP, but they do not ban accounts by association.

    Botting question. (Account banning)

    Wow thanks guys! :).

Few new questions. What is a "VPS?" I have seen this term thrown around a few times now and am curious.

And for the most part this is my undserstanding to the majority answers.

"Jagex will ban and or flag a caught account, and will monitor the IP in order to bot any other accounts on my IP with botting activity. My main account that is not botting should not be flagged because it is not botting. So they couldn't ban it because theres no proof the same persons doing it?"

One last question is I had botted my main in the past. But haven't done so in around maybe even a year by now. Is it safe? =)

Botting in general is a risk. Some people get banned, and some people get off. There are a large amount of steps that can be taken to ensure that your account isn't banned. Everyone says if you care about the account enough for it to bother you if it got banned then don't bot on it. But as for me I care about some of the accounts I bot on and yes it would bug me if they were banned, but I can't be asked to play the game for more than an hour, therefore I bot everything. It's like a gamble, you can win it all, or you can loose it all.
