The Tagical Historie Of Sythe Member's Intelligence

As a member I have been here for nearing four years now, yes this account is new I am currently working on recovering my old account which was hacked. (Created in Feb 2007) When I first came to this community it was more basic than it was now, but it was more close knit and much more intelligent. One could have an intellectual conversation without people coming in an trying to troll the thread, and when some one post something people would rebuttal with logical arguments. Now I browse the forums and I see six of the same thread, each thread talking non-sense and half the time not even on-topic nonsense. Especially now with the wild speculations with the new Free Trade and Wildys updates coming out soon. What has happened to the community? Is it the size that is causing the de-evolution of what was previously an intellectual community? Am I just an old-timer who cannot adjust? Or is my memory beginning to fail me?

I present you a poll and an open discussion.

 

No, I totally agree. Feb 2007 is nothing; you should have seen Sythe.org pre-vBulletin.

The site itself is better, but the community is nothing like what it used to be.

Doesn't matter; I appreciate all the work Sythe and everyone else has put in to this site, and I hope that with time we can improve things (by which I mean, restore some interest in programming and cheating).

I'm trying to get people interested in programming, and teaching people who want to learn from me.

That said, if anyone wants to learn programming, please post here stating you do so that I can post some tutorials in the programming section and not feel ignored

Naw, that's a little daunting for beginners, I realize. I'll consider Delphi or VB.

 

You have found yourself a student. Will you send me an msn to discuss this? Im really interested in programming and i should have taken comp-sci but instead went to Media for my major.

 

I want in if we are learning Delphi, already know BASIC and enough of VB. (There are a couple of other languages in my knowledge.)

I'd love to learn. I've been here 4 years almost and would love to say that I've learned something on Sythe that can I could potentially make a profession or money out of (GFX, Programming, Business) who knows.

 

I haven't even been here that long, but I left end of last year, and returned recently and it felt a lot different.

I would be willing to give it a shot. I'd like to see that section active... You've pretty much got a class of willing students in this thread alone

 

The whole reason for it to be less intelligent is because the HUGE amount in increase of members that have come to this site, it has gone from being able to talk about intelligent things to just buying and selling.

Note: Love what you did their SMR, "ooh but i just wanna get people into programming and not feel ignored!!" Then they come, haha

 

Although I wasn't here back then the community is really bad now. You can't have a real discussion with out a troll or a simple sale with out some one trying to scam. The other issue is people care a lot more about them selves now and don't look out for others nearly as much. I think if we can overcome those issues then we could be come closer knit.

 

I think not, but people find it funny to troll. Trying to have an intelligent conversation aint easy, even not in school. Yeh, I'm a nerd. I'd be down for some programming with you SMR. Even though I'm more into cheating and bug abusing.

Edit: I Second that one Bubba. Close knit forums are encouraging intelligent discussions etc.
