Trade Limit is being lifted - Discuss GP Prices

Yeah for people citing 3.50/m as it used to be, remember that inflation has been brought into the game, and some things are more expensive now than they used to be.

While it would cost you 7-15 bucks in the old days to buy the gold for a fury, now it costs quite a bit more than that (Example only, I know prices of other things have gone down in that time, although thats due to bots).

I'm actually gutted that I bought quite a lot of gold before the free trade news came out.

It'll sky rocket down to $0.50, as people will suicide their own bots, xfer themselves, causing less demand, and gold farmers will have more time to make gold, instead of xferring, causing more supply.

More supply, less demand, thus a cheaper price.

 

haha jagex realised they were making less profit with the 3k limit, and now their suddenly taking it out. and they made a poll to look as if their listening to the public, such a funny company, im glad their changing it back though. i just think mark gerhard is a retard for taking it out in the first place

I hope to god prices will go down. But wouldnt this affect the general prices of items as well? I mean, AGS's have gone up 10m in like 3 days.

gold is definitely not rising..the only reason gold was so expensive before the trade limit was cause well, there was less gold! i remmeber when a whip and 1m was 40 bucks on ebay. theres alot more players with alot more money now and id say prices will stay in their same general price range. .75$- 1.80$ a mil.

 

Lol guys guys...the ONLY reason gold was so expensive back then was because 1mil was actually quite a lot. hahaha...look at it now...100mil is shit money in rs. You need at least a bil to be good nowadays. There sooooooooo much more GP in runescape than there was before....god wars / merch clans / 76king / all this shit....theres much more gp than you guys know of....every single one of my 600 friends has over 500mil. Every single one of them. I would say about 200/500 have over 1.5bil. Some even going over 5bil. There is muchhh more gp than there was before....prices of GP will drop by a huge chunk...simply because there are more sellers. I have rl friends going to sell like 500mil for around $100-$200. so yea....its going to drop, no matter what you guys say or do haha =p

They will drop and then raise.

While it is true that the transfer methods are what you are paying for at the moment.

It is also true that the GP is extremely inflated at the moment due to PVP drop methods, rares being held artificially high, and other factors.

Rares are going to crash like no other since junk is literally worthless now, and overtime we will see less GP in the game which deflates the economy and makes the GP more powerful. Also items that were previously protected in PVP might drastically go down depending on how they set up the new wilderness. So each Million GP will be more valuable in a year relative to what it is worth now.

 

Most of items fall suddenly and more players buy gold,i think the price will raise.

 

I do believe the gold prices will drop but it will be temporary. Why is because after all those accounts with gold sitting there will be sold in time and prices for gold will eventually even out. It might end up going higher after awhile considering the demand for gold might go out of control and the gold sellers wont be able to meet the demands. Why the demand for gold might go higher is because there is no more hassle getting the gold thus more people wanting to buy gold.


Anyways on a side note I wouldn't be to sure on doing massive trades right away. Jagex might have a trick up their sleeve to catch gold traders this time. And the only reason why I think there allowing free trade now is because ever since the limit botting has reached an all time high since people are getting poorer from not being able to merchant properly like in the old days or PVP for cash.

 

I think it's going to skyrocket. From the second free trade comes back. Because sellers know that there going to get a LOT more customers and theres going to be a HUGE demand for gold. So there going to raise prices.

Gold prices are going to drop, and may rise a little, but will stay below what the prices are now.

This is going to occur for two main reasons:

1) It's much easier to sell gold (there won't be any hassle of getting around the trade limit.
- There will be more demand, but the amount of sellers will increase at a
faster rate.

2) Natural inflation. (The RS economy is much more inflated than it was before the trade limit was introduced).

 

Guys we all know the prices of mills before the free trade update. It was around $4 for paypal and $3 for egold.

I know for a fact im stocking up on these $1m sales because the only reason they went down is the fact that the game was boring as hell without staking etc. More people staking is more mills being bought.
