Okay so i have been watching the rs cheating forum lately out of boredom etc... and i have caught a few people posting undected keyloggers/trojans/botnets etc, i have supplied source information, information about the contamination and the persons details, yet when this gets reviewed by mods, the thread simply gets deleted.

    1. how does this help anyone that has already downloaded and run the file.
    2. how does this prevent people from recognizing a scammer/hacker/skid on the forums when there is no evidence it ever happened?

    My opinion?
The original thread should be stripped of the malicious file, the user should be banned, but also information about the file and infection should be left in the thread, and any info that could be useful for anyone else who comes across this person later in the track.
For example their email address is left on the thread, a user is browsing another forum and notices the same email, you see?

    Just my small suggestion...
    Vic

I support this, a user may accidentally download the file and then when the thread is deleted he has no idea that he just downloaded a virus/keylogger. Like suggested if we keep the thread up perhaps he will see it again again go back and delete the virus.

Normally these kind of things are spammed all over the forums, when I delete them I usually just leave one of the threads with an explanation that it was malicious to avoid cluttering multiple boards. If there's anything you think would be useful to add when closing those threads feel free to PM me and I'll edit it.

i agree with this. Recently i was affected with a virus i got on here and it would be helpful if the link was removed, but the thread remained as users can post advice on how to deal with it , etc.

Support, could actually help people out and the user who posted should be banned, I'm really surprised that they don't.

Question does this happen only if we click on links or can it happen by just visiting the thread?

You have to download and run it. Nothing can infect you on Sythe just by reading a message.

Click the link, download the program and run it.

    Then you have a problem.

    Otherwise, you should be good.

    /OT:
I agree that the threads should be left. I also think that it would help in the prevention of further similar phish/hack attempts.

I wasn't thinking and I accepted the "Java" request.
I downloaded and ran the Symantec antivirus that my community college gives out, so should I be okay?

I used to just mass delete everything. This is actually a very good idea.

I approve, though you shouldn't keep the link within it when your editing the thread. Another option to do since they just delete the thread is keep a folder somewheres that has all of the information that was posted on the thread, if you get my drift.

Just another example, not single-ing out anybody in this:

    http://sythe.org/showthread.php?t=985906

The amount of time the thread stayed alive could have caused a few people to run it thinking they could find a virus in it, now the thread is closed and there is no information on the file whatsoever !

I agree completely, people have been posting youtube video's saying "legit man try it out" and "made 10 mil and stuff"
People just seem to fall into the hands of these people and when they see that nice virus they blame it on this site.

I support this, those keyloggers are annoying and i really don't think there is a more effective method than what Vic has suggested.
