~Peetus' Staking Guide~

Staking is the most efficient way to make money in RuneScape, when you know how to do it efficiently. In this guide I will be listing differents kinds of Staking pures, and how to handle them. Staking is based on patience, luck, skill and concentration.

If you ever plan to stake, prepare for BIG losses & wins.


II. Brands of stakers.

A. The Defence Pure

The defence pure is probably the most efficient way to stake. With the right rules your losing ratio is next to none.

Rules to stake with: Armour ON, Magic, Food, Potions ALL OFF.


Pros: You'll almost never lose, it just might give you the nerdgasm to surprise your enemy with this baby.

Cons: It might be hard to find people who accept your rules. Training these is VERY hard.

Strategy: Wear some pure outfit ( Wizard G, etc. ) and look for people 10-15 levels higher than you. Challenge them, And put on your rules. Try to stake atleast 500K everytime, since these fights can be long.
When the battle begins, wear your armor ( Dragon, Torags ). Then pull out your Darklight, and use the special attack to lower your opponents Defence level. Then wield the best (p++) dagger you can wield, and poison your enemy. After that just wield the best scimitar you have, and enjoy.

Recommended Stats:

Low Level: 1-5 Attack, 1-10 Strength, 60 Defence, 50 Hp, 1 Prayer.
Higher Level: 10 Attack, 10-20 Strength, 75-99 Defence, 65-99 Hp, 1 Prayer.

B. Maxed Staking Melee'r

Not much to say about, these. Maxed accounts with very low prayer.

Pros: These can pretty much kill any unprepared main account.

Cons: Can't do normal activities, that include use of prayer.

Strategy: Your mostly going to do DDSing fights. When you stake, make sure to have DDS in your hand, and Whip / Chaotic weapon in inventory.
When the battle begins, press your special attack ready, right click your opponent, and press attack, just when 1 is transforming to 0. Spec the hell out of your opponent, and then pull out the other weapon you have.

Recommended stats:

Low Level: 80 Attack, 80 Strength, 80 Defence, 80 HP, 1 Prayer.

Higher Level: 99 Attack, 99 Strength, 99 Defence, 99 HP, 1 Prayer.

C. Boxer

These accounts fight with nothing but their fists. Prepare for semi-long and exciting battles.

Pros: Can take out any other account type in boxing battles.

Cons: Low strength won't hit as high as you may hope.

Strategy: Fight using Defence / Attacking technique. When it's your turn to hit, use "Accurate" attack mode. When it's your turn to block opponents attack, use "Defensive" Stance.

Recommended stats:

Low Level: 60 Attack, 45 Strength, 60 Defence, 50-60 HP, 1 Prayer.

Higher Level: 80 Attack, 65 Strength, 80 Defence, 70-80 HP, 1 Prayer.

D. Mage Boxer.

One of the most common types of staking pures. These accounts require maybe the most skill out of all these.

Pros: Needs Skill, not hard to find opponents.

Cons: Needs Skill, kind of boring to make.

Strategy: Poison your enemy with highest level Smoke spell you can use. Then start using highest level Blood spell you can use.

E. Pure DDSer.

Read maxed melee'r. Exactly the same, but with 1 Defence.

On topic, is Shadow Barrage at all useful for mage boxing? I know it reduces accuracy but I'm not sure if that's just for melee or mage as well.

Edit: Nope it looks like it only affects attack :/

 

my accs 99 mage but 111+10 cb also got soulsplit and arcane stream would it be best for me to mage box or just tank?

HP / Constitution lvl?

 

99 constitution

 

It would, but since your not going to stake millions each time, it wouldn't be clever.

And the corrupt weapons'll be made more rare, so there would be absolutely no point. Unless you're RICH. Which you're not.

 

Not a bad start but you missed high level tanks. Those things used to rule staking back when I played. If you could find a tank with 90+ defense, magic and range then it was pretty much good fight to you. They don't really have a finishing move but they just drain food like crazy.

 

Ideal stats for Mage Boxing would be 99 HP, Magic, and Defence. If you have 2 of them maxed, go ahead and try your luck. Make sure to watch some videos on YouTube first, and start with smaller stakes.

 

yep 99 mage constitution def and 92 prayer so mage boxing it is

 

prayer is useless, don't get it since it takes combat levels.

 

It's ok with Mage Boxers, since their combat level means nothing. Lvl 90 could take on lvl 130 with similar stats. But in ALL OTHER FORMS OF STAKING prayer is bad.

 

SS has proved invaluable in pvp situations i dont know so much abt during staking though.
Leech Spec could be another potential murderer
And im sure turm would be pretty deadly in boxing matches with prayer enabled.
