OSRS account help

Hi there,

I've sold a few accounts during my time on Sythe, nothing spectacular, just some decent pures and a few dusty mains.

My question:

Does deleting the e-mail account that an osrs account was created on (a.k.a; original e-mail), have any impact on the safety/status of an osrs account? The people that have bought my accounts linked their own e-mails to it, so it's hard to say whether this will have an impact.

I could keep those e-mails, but i don't use them for anything outside rs. Might as well delete if it causes no harm.

Assuming these are real emails (gmail, outlook etc) then they may still have some use for the safety of these accounts.
1. If an account gets locked, sometimes the unlock email is sent to the original email. This makes possibly unlocking these accounts easier.
2. Although not confirmed, from my experience it's much easier to recover an account if you have access to creation email. So if one of these customers ever lose access, the original email will help.

Deleting the creation email will not directly effect the Runescape account itself. Like Zora mentioned it could be beneficial for recovery purposes. If the creation emails do not link to any of your personal information you could always give the information for the email to the buyers to take ownership. I've had a couple people include the creation email details when I purchased accounts back in the day.

Thanks to both of you for the detailed reply! The thing is i don't have contact anymore with most of those buyers, i don't even know if they're still active in the rs scene. Given this fact, i think i'll just hold on to the e-mails just in case an unlock needs to be carried out.
