GP Donations

That's called ban evading, I guess.

 

What the hell is up with everyone donating? The site has enough income.

 

They want to help out the site so Sythe doesn't have to pay everything.

 

Why shouldn't Sythe get more income from running this site? Anything over what it costs to run is money for his time and effort into making the site, bet there's not one good reason why he shouldn't get it.

 

Don't worry about it, he's a newcomer and I already hate him. Just report his bad posts he's been spamming a lot of threads.

 

Noob poster here dunno how to quote haha ^^ but replying to the first page message about there being no garuntee that there's going to be free trade again, i can gladly say that it is garunteed ^^ last i checked it was 90% yes, 8% no, 2% don't care.

The site makes more then enough from adverts, any extra donated goes into his pocket, and i can't blame him, i would do the same thing. Money's money.

 

I would love to see this up and running with me 25b bank spread over accounts I would doanate 5b For 5000 Usd donar. I no longer have use for the gold.

 

It would be awesome and I'd definately donate to get 100+ usd or 200+ rank

 

At the end of the day it's easier for Sythe to accept currency than virtual goods.

 

The only way this could work would be the following:

Take a person such as King Tijn who is currently buying bulk gold for $.50/m. so say the person who had the gp would sell 200m to him valued at $100. King Tijn would then donate the money he would have paid the seller to sythe.

It's tricky but that would bet he easiest way to do it.

 

I think when they use to do it, they went by how much gold sell per mil.

2$ per mil(think thats the current price) so it would be 2.5mil for a $5 donator rank. But I could be wrong.

 

What can happen is for Sythe to have a Runescape account dedicated to collecting gold from donators. People who donate will have a GP donation rank instead of a dollar amount donation rank. (Such as "500M GP Donator"). One person can be in charge of selling all of that gold each month or so, and there yah go.

 

I'd rather gold stayed at a $1 = 1M rate for calculation of USD donation currency via gold donating.

 

I agree much simpler, and it should be base on how much Sythe can sell it for. Not how much other people are selling it for. He'll want this gold to be a quick-sale, and at 1$ per 1m with ZERO risk. Now that's a a bargain anywhere. Thus i believe if this is done, and FT comes out, gold donating will be a good idea.

It only would really work if Mathew is up for reselling it, but its ideal for most members. I agree with Firez $1/M not $5 though.

 

Yeah if this was added there'd be a lot more donators.

 

I don't think that RSGP inflation will make it still worth $1=1M after the update. In 2007, 50m was quite a large pile of gold. Nowadays, it's not much at all.
