Keep or let go?

Simple question, I've had a Blue Partyhat since they've been 400M Trade, and while they are at about 10B Street now, I am kind of worried with the new update coming soon, that the value will drop significantly...

Do you guys think a lot new Blue Hats will become active/ sold ingame, causing the price to crash? Or will the Hat be rare, and possibly even increase?

Street their 10b. I would keep it til after update. That's just my opinion.

 

Thats a good question and i dont think anyone can predict. Its a big risk to take. Theres so many thing to take in consideration.

Pvp is gonna be out = Less Gp income in game. Alot of new player 08-10 wont like the Old wild since they dont get a 4M kill by killing their target with only a dds.

Staking will be back and im sure theres going to be high gambler and this can bring alot of seller. Im sure theres alot of Rich pplz waiting this update to sell their gp. So if the Gp price goes down many ppl is going to buy alot and migth try to get a Party Hat. In this case P HAT will go Fucking sky rocket.


Anyway if i had a blue party hat i would keep it and dont do anything with it until it get stable. Cause theres alot of thing will go Up n Down.

I have thought about this for quite some time, I have a few bucks from early christmas gifts and was thinking about buying my first phat, but I am uncertain what effect the update will have.

THE FACTS:

as of now party hats not only require alot of IRL cash but most people don't even realise you must have several hundred mil just to be able to pay a few hundred IRL dollars for the privilege to buy a party hat in game at its market price.

If anyone every bought it say on RS forums for strictly rsgp, as you have said its several billion coins, made possible by junk trading.

Technically, when someone payed 10bil for a blue party hat, if they were skillful in junk trading they could rid themselves of there junk and get alot of the gp back, making the party hat purchase very close to its market value.

AFTER THE UPDATE:

free trade means junk will no longer be required, so a partyhat bought with IRL cash as they will be bought/sold here on sythe will just be a trade from on account to the other. This means the buyer will offer nothing, and the seller will not receive the phats market value in gold, they will just lose the phat, so this fact makes me think the IRL value in cash will rise, since now the seller will not recieve several hundred mil cash for his phat loss, he will just lose the phat, and if I was selling a phat for no cash, I would want more IRL cash. At 50 cents a mil, thats still several hundred IRL dollars difference.

With people who only trade with rsgp and on rs forums, I think in this case the value will go down. Because now the buyer, who used to recieve several billion coins worth of junk with the phat, will now only receive the phat, losing ever last coin he/she payed for it, so I would want to pay less if I didn't even have a chance to get part of the money back (i.e. getting rid of the junk for partial money back). Also, not everyone has the skills to generate bils of junk effectiviely and efficiently, so sellers will need to sell at lower rsgp prices because now anyone who has a phat can sell it straight up for whatever price they want to, because generating alot of junk is no longer required.


Again, this could be completely wrong, but based on what happens now and what will be possible after free trade is again acquired, this is my best "prophecy" of the coming rares market, both legitly (rsgp) and the black market (sythe baby!!).

 

Okay, So now lets say this.

I choose to buy a partyhat on here today, I have 630M(Value of Blue) and I have an extra 500$. I buy the hat, and in 1 week the update comes out... The partyhat can't change drasticly in price, As Blue is pretty rare, and even if people do come back & stake theirs, I am sure players will still want high prices for them as it's the rarest partyhat and it's been for years. The price can't drop below the value of what it was paid for in past, it can go a little lower, but I am sure there is still going to be the same demand, and noone is going to sell them for 600M. They should be trade for rares, or what the person set's their price at.

 

its discontinued,new ones will never be introduced into the game. even if it crashes severly now you know in the long run it will only increase in value. Divines and Elyssians arent going to crash because of trade limit and they arent even discontinued.

 

Blue-$500. Blue trade 630. Predicted gp value after update-2b. 1370m profit. Gold after update prediction price on average-.75 from bigger sellers, .50 from rest give or take, more than likely take. Even at .50/m it's still a $185 profit. If you were patient enough you could more than likely get more from it.

 

It won't be as, say, secure. If you get a Blue that's a Blue on your account, it is "binded" as there are no easy means to transfer. After the update, staking, etc, it will be much more common for Blues to switch owners very quickly.

I personally think they will drop and have sold my white red and yellows because of this.

on topic:
in terms of RSGP keep it
in terms of irl trading i not sure ,no additional fee of xfer methods but we also have to consider no additional HASSLE of xfer methods making people more willing to purchase them.

 

Damn, I hope to sell it for a few other partyhats As I really want more, but then I hope that it doesn't go lower in value then the trade of it as of now.

Why?

Whether a new update comes or not, the rarity of the item will remain the same and over time, the amount of Blue PHat's will always decrease and never rise, hence...the price will rise in the long run.

 

If your going to be playing runescape the 2 more years keep it. I guess it will drop pretty alot for a short period of time and then rise steadily again

 

Sell it now.
After the Wilderness & Staking update it'll crash. When it's done crashing, buy it back.

 

Really if you are going to continue playing runescape you may aswell keep it even if it drops in price for now, in the end it will get rarer as they become harder to obtain.

I've you've had it since it was 400m you don't really stand to lose anything in the first place.

It's just a bunch of perceived value, but not actual increase in value.

 

Keep it. Right now all is dropping. Keep it wait till after update and stabalize you'll sell it for max cash and like like 400m G.e price to getting 10b cash or you know what i mean?

 

Well I have no problem as long as the value doesn't go below the Trade-Price of it tbh, I still have 1B Spare just incase

I hope not, I hope I can sell it for around Max Cash+ some items... As I got it cheap, anything above 400m to me is profit
