the reason the post office is cheaper and offers those services is because it is illegal for UPS/FedEx to have lower prices and offer other competetive forms of mail

    look up coercive monopoly

How come all our veterans, seniors and public officials on government heath care options love it so much? Because it works and is not screwed up. They spend 27% more of their funds on actually treating health care and not with advertising costs ect. If you look at the chart OP has provided about heath care, we spend the most money on heath care, get the worst results, and the government pays far less percent of costs, which means that private insurance is dominating the market, and that is clearly not working.

This would be a service provided by the government. They would not be out to make profits, so they would be forced to cover the sick and people with pre existing conditions where private insurance does not.

Over the last 2 decades, heath insurance costs have risen tremendously, but the results are barley increasing while other countries who pay less than half we do and have far better results. We clearly have to change the system and this is my answer to the original question.

Your first point regarding the point of "lax gun laws" is simply down to the fact that in the second ammendment of the constitution of the United States they, the people of America have the right to "keep or bear arms." I don't know if you very clued up about political systems and law but in America it's very hard/ near impossible to pass laws which are "unconstitutional" and any laws which posed sanctions or restrictions on gun laws would go against the constitution would be quickly challenged and impossible to implement.

Your second point again refers to politics, America is very much a capitalist country and with that comes low taxation and pretty much a "laissez faire" approach to their politics (basically means the Government believe in self help, rather than being a welfare state such as the UK with high taxation.) Therefore, Americans pay less in taxes and are subsequently expected to pay for private health care or use the small amount of health care given to them by the Government. In relation to your point about Government spending that's a very misguided statement, you'll find that spending will include research into cures for diseases etc not actual hospitals for example so even if they do spend more it may be in different areas.

In relation to your last two statements especially the later of the two about gay marriage I completely agree that America are in the stone ages with those.. less so about capital punishment as I believe in retribution for family's of serious criminals, murderes, rapists etc but that's a whole different arguement and probably more of a personal choice than anything.

Americans pay very low taxes and get many benefits from the gov. Thats why the national debt is so high. And because the richest people dont pay taxes and are able to get away with it.
THe gay rights are in the stone age but theres not much anyone is going to do about it anytime soon. A republican house isnt going to pass any gay right things.

the debt is high because the govt. spends the money like crazy, the richest people (top 2% of the population) pay 40% of the income taxes in America so they obviously pay taxes

Public heathcare is the worst idea anyone could ever think of. The government can't even deliver mail without losing billions, not exactly the "Company" I'd like in charge of my health.

    Privatized competition > government laziness.

Must drive competition for anything in this world to be accomplished.

Dude, i don't think the points you made were very good. I don't see America benefiting from your proposals. The death penalty is defiantly something that should be used, it keeps people in order. Universal health care is dumb. I'd rather earn money and use it when im sick- when i need it rather then be drained in taxes my whole life when i don't get sick, not to mention alot of my taxes are probably going to OTHER people. On gun control.. what the hell is the big deal of owning a gun? I think people deserve the right to own one and be protected should anything ever happen don't you? During the 08 election people went to buy guns in fear of it being restricted and crimes did go down the following year.

These are questions that can not be answered by politics.
Politics is simply a game, and it lacks rationality when its' questions are answered.

The reasons you think so is because you're looking at the problem from a single, biased, perspective only.

If you looked at the situation in whole, you would understand what and why it is going on.

Because Americans are raised constantly being told they're the greatest nation and that they're always right. Don't even get me started on the divine entitlement issue either. It's so hard for them to think that they're actually fairly inferior, that any evidence to that point is met with cries of terrorism/atheism/islam/socialism, anything they think will completely strip the person of all legitimacy.

P.S. If you can't tell, I'm ashamed to be called American.

In the US, we like to do things the opposite of the logical way anyone else would do it.

The person who Obama elected as our Secretary of Home Land Security, do you know who that could possibly be? Well our Secretary of Home Land Security was the former Governer of Arizona who let in the most ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS COME IN THROUGH MEXICO IN US HISTORY!

    Moving on.............

The person who Obama elected for... I forget the exact title but its the director of Human Resources or something, and this person, under Obama Care gets to decide who is aloud to get treatment from hospitals, and who can't. Well this person is the person who passed post abortion.. So the person who passed the law that after a baby is born they can leave the baby in a room in a bed til it dies after it's born... Yup.. That's how fucked up we are..

"God Bless America?... no, GOD DANG AMERICA!"

Oh yeah, and the reason "Don't Ask Don't Tell" was repealed because the leaders of our country HATE this country to death and want us to fail. By repealing that we will loose tons of people in our army.

Same thing happened in the 90's when people were dropping out of the army left and right, people were dropping out because they were afraid to get the shot because 1/5 people who got it developed a life long illness. So 1/5 dropped out because they got sick, then a bunch of others dropped out because they didn't want to risk it.

Your also comparing us to countries with way less population, that changes alot of things. Were also a relatively new country, which has rose to be one of the biggest world super powers..so we have obviously been doing something right.

The American government keeps most of the stuff for themselves, and keep away from the people.

They pretend to be a democracy, however not letting them choose.

They don't care, they've become cheap, and used/imported cheap processed foods produced themselves or by other countries.
