I know everyone knows it's real, but if it makes any difference I confirmed it with a friend who works at Jagex.

Of course it's real, and it's going to happen. Jagex has already decided to bring it back--this is simply a publicity stunt. Jagex will be raking in $$ because of this (ads on the voting website+returning members). Furthermore, and I think this is the biggest here, The word of mouth has been incredible. Think about all the people who have heard of this and have been encouraged to participate in the "decesion to bring back the wilderness". Runescape will change. Thank God.

Ok, don't want to be a downer, and didn't read through the 17 pages to see if this had already been brought up, but there is a rumor that JaGeX is just trying to set a web record for having the most votes in an online poll/vote. If this is true, the topic of old wilde/trade limits could just be a ploy because they know its an issue runescape players would be most likely to want to be a part of.

For one, if they actually wanted to poll the current runescape active population, wouldn't they require a log in to make sure all of these votes are actual people who play and who are going to be effected by this decision, not (pure1, pure2, pure3, pure4, pure5, elvis, ironman, santaclaus) all of those were done by friends of mine.

Also! the entire reason JaGeX took away old wilde and trade limit is because it aided in RWT, which they still havn't patched obviously (i.e. Sythe's existance, LOL) and this would undo all of the work that has been done in the past 2 or 3 years. And they didn't originally remove this stuff just because they're assholes and didn't want people to be able to RWT. It was causing major financial issues with credit card fraud, etc.........so they had to end it fast, (i.e. drastic removal of wilde, for sometime with no replacement).

All-in-all, I think JaGeX is playing on our feelings for more votes, or they got high and posted the poll and now they are desperately trying to figure out how to get themselves out of this pit that they dug for themselves.

PS: as a side note, maybe at least PVP+1 will come out of this whole ordeal and I can finally AGS some nooblet in the face at the GE without shitting myself because Im risking it. LOL

 

This might be true, but think what will happen when at the end of the vote the counter will be max (9 million) and Jagex just says "Nope."
Probably every kid and older people who were thinking of returning will leave and Runescape will be dead for a while.

I'm going to stop botting and start training legit. I never cared about my account getting banned because there is nothing fun on runescape anyway. But now that there is this incentive, i definately want to insure my account won't be banned this time.
