Wilderness Vote is Publicity Stunt

Jagex states that it would take "Old friends, Ex-Friends, Enemies" to vote for this.
This infers
- Trying to get more people to come back and play which leads to membership therefore Jagex earns money.

There are over 100 Million inactive accounts.
10%-%20 would be active...
Do you think everyone will vote in favour?

It is a big stunt so Jagex can get more traffic and money in there pocket..

People quit because of this wilderness update, and now they are luring them back for possibly 1month+ of subscription..

If you're not happy with it don't vote.

If this a publicity stunt, they will be losing more players than they gain.

You're correct in that it is a publicity stunt, but it's not a scam or trick.

Jagex most likely decided to bring it back before the poll was even started, either realizing that their game is slowly dying or realizing that they can't totally combat the issues they stated led to the demise of the Wilderness and free trading.

I am really excited to see what will happen but cannot help but feel uncertain :S

 

LOL you tell yourself these things to make you feel good mate?
Jagex is doing this to see if majority wants old wild/trade system back. If majority does, then they will change it = people begin to play again, by people voting 'yes' does not make them ANY money until they update is done... Its not a big stunt and it will probably happen. If they made this now, then they are considering it. If they do not make the wild/trade system back many people will quit after all this hipe about them doing it. So don't go getting wrong impressions and putting it into other peoples head. Just simply vote if you want it and dont if you dont.

 

The vote is less a publicity stunt and more an opportunity for Jagex to create some hype within the Rs community.

Hell, just look on Youtube and you'll see that their plan is working perfectly.

 

Actually, your argument is invalid as you can enter any accounts name and vote over hundreds of times per account.
