Donating your Organs? Will YOU?

I am not a religious person, I could be lying face down in a ditch when I die and I wouldn't know any better.

I'm quite sure there was a question on my driving liscence form thing asking if you'd like to be an organ donor, so yeah I would.

 

Of course. If not, you're letting them rot away when you could give the gift of life without even needing to be alive yourself.

 

Absolutely. I signed up when I got my drivers license. Whoever doesn't is a selfish ass.

 

There really is no valid reason not to.

Of course. Since you're not going to use them anymore, you might as well donate it and make a change

 

I'm glad most people are agreeing with me. Has anyone pointed out a reason not just because it feels uncomfortable thinking about it?

 

right now im young and want to pretend im selfish and not donate, but i have morals and sympathy....i believe when im older i WILL chooose to donate my organs

 

No thank you. I don't want other people using my dead body.

 

The whole thing about it saving 50+ people is somewhat true, due to rejection and just plain coincidences your lucky if you actually give someone else another 3 years or so. We are getting better with those odds though.

I'm leaning more towards donating my body to science, or maybe mythbusters =D that's kinda like donating it to science.

 

Yeah, why not? I can't use them myself after i die anyways.

 

I would definitely donate my organs upon death, I mean.. I'm not going to need them anymore.

I do know that some people don't because of their religion.

 

I have no problem giving up my parts. Im just worried about the chance that even while dead you can feel your body.... and ouch would that hurt.

 

I'm not planning on it. Doctors could potentially give you less care than required so you would die quicker and they could harvest your organs.

 

Yeah, after I'm dead they could feed me to the poor for all I care. No reason for me go to waste rotting inside a box if my organs can be used by someone else.

What stops these sinister doctors you envision from harvesting your organs secretly and selling them on the black market? If you want to assume the worst, of course.

 

Im only 15, I thought about it.. but, I have alot more thinking too do.

 

I don't like to think of the fact that they cut you up and dismantle you. What do they do with the parts they don't need?

They don't take the organs after you die, they're useless then, just dead organs.

They take them while you are alive, but there is a high chance you will not survive whatever it is that is injuring you (car accident, gunshot wound, etc.).

I personally will not be donating my organs, not because I do not care about others, but because I would rather live if there is even a slim chance.

For those of you who say it is selfish for me to care more about myself than others, if you would rather save 50 other people than yourself, go donate your organs now and prove it.

 

Lol kinda seems weird but i dont like the feeling of someone ripping out all my organs if im dead. Though it may help save someones life just doesn't suit me not to be selfish and all but yeah .
