Why Do We Lie?

Fear of what would happen if we don't

Usually we lie to save our asses or someone else and the thought of telling the truth might be shameful or simply stupid to blurt out so we take the other opition of lying which can turn out good or really bad.

 

Its human nature for us to lie. We were flawed in the beginning due to our sins. basing off the bible will wont be complete till we are reborn.

 

Because we don't want that person to know the truth, or possibly to gain personal benefit in some way.

 

Because it helps.

'nuff said.

 

We lie to make something favor in a way we want.

 

Maybe we lie because we sometimes feel our true self is either too revealing or not "good enough" to an extent of using any excuse to rationalize a scenario where it is entirely the liars fault for misleading someone by deception into a different perception.

 

It is one of many defense mechanisms of the brain that is natural. We as humans are known to be naturally "pleasure seekers" in all respects of the phrase. So lying is simply a way of avoiding negative experiences, pain, etc. and aids in pursuing our ultimate goal of pleasure. This is Looking at humans on a very base and instinctual level of course. But the same idea is still applicable. Freudian theory would definitely be helpful to understand this question.

 

We lie to protect ourselves in the moment, atleast thats MY opinion.

 

Because it's so dam easy.

 

To change the way people view us for our own self pleasure.

 

I lie simply to get what I want and not to have to face the consequences of my actions.
