    Ear Cartilage Piercing

I have these both cartilage earings since April of 2010 and ever since now, I think something is wrong. Occasionally, I would clean them using sea salt wash on my ears x2 a day and the problem with my cartilage piercing is that there is no pain if they are not bothered ( no touch at all ). For when I do touch then, clean them, I feel a small pain for a few seconds and it vanishes away. My cartilage piercing looks to be swollen but I think they already were before I got them pierced , but they do anyway. It's like a small bump near the piercing and it only hurts when I touch it, and doesn't hurt when I don't touch it. Is this normal at all?

I don't think that is normal. I have both my ears pierced and they aren't sore ever, I don't think any piercings should ever be sore after this long.

However, I'm not a professional. I would advise you to talk to your piercer incase something is wrong.

Maybe next time you go to the doctor, have him/her just look at it to make sure it isn't anything to worry about.

I would go to the doctor and get it checked out. Its always better to be safe than sorry. It may give you problems later down the road if you don't get it checked out soon.

If its swollen then something is definitely wrong. Could be an infection, is there any type of "juice" coming out?.

Go back to your piercer? Or take them out and wait for everything to go away and the hole to close up and get them re-pierced?

It's just a minor inflammation. I got something similar to that on my earlobes months after I removed my earrings.

Just ignore it; it can swell up a lot, but it'll go away eventually.

I don't think anybody here is qualified to help, I'd find professional help. Possibly go back to your piercer.

What has most likely happened is that you didnt treat it properly early on or you removed the stud you're meant to keep in for 6 weeks prematurely, go to the doctors and ask him to check it out, the piercer won't do anything.

His response (since I'm having a bit of trouble merging the posts, sorry OP :( )

no, no puss but ONLY if I remove the earrings, I look at my earrings and theres puss but theres no blood or puss leaking through the earhole at all.
