I have seen many things in all my years of life and have been a part of many entertaining and comical things, but nothing stands out to me more than the time I was in Austin Texas for business for approx. 3 months. Every day I'd wake up at my hotel at 5AM and have a morning jog I'd see a homeless man in a wheelchair with a sign begging "disabled and homeless" or something to that measure, and when I got back to the hotel around 5pm he would still be there. Well one afternoon while walking to the gas station next to my hotel for a bevy after work I hear tires screech, I turn around to observe a vehicle that had seemingly veered off into the intersection sideswiping the homeless man, well shortly afterwards a man gets out of the car and the "disabled" homeless man filled with rage arose from his position on the ground and proceeded to charge the man (fully able bodied) and beat him inches from death. It was later found out the guy driving was drunk, and the homeless man was an old-school semiprofessional boxer, he was also awarded some money from insurance. I asked him weeks later why he would lie about being disabled and he replied, "because people are idiots my son and I make enough money here to have my own apartment" and from that day on I have never trusted a homeless man again. I assume he only expressed this information to me because he knew I wasn't a local, at any rate I only give the homeless food now-adays.
