How insecure must you be if a 6 year if you slap them when they give you a little name calling, and they can't know that much offensive stuff if he's 6? Never hit kids man.

I would call that discipline, not child abuse.

I would call it child abuse if you slapped him because of reasons that had nothing to do with him at all

My moms a foster parent and I can tell you that from experience any physical harm done to your child is abuse. My mom can't even protect herself from harm like for example if her foster child is viciously acting her she can't defend herself because it'd be child abuse and she can get fined and shut down.

 

Apoligise to the kid, and everyone else that knew that it happened. No one is going to take legal action, you all need to calm down.
