Im assuming your just talking about the big Seed Vault the world has come together to create. It has all sorts of seed's, from everywhere. If your a Discovery/History Channel freak then you've already known about this for along time. Very doubtful that after such a catastrophe someone with the ability to open it would actually get too it.

Thats actually kinda weird, didn't think they actually would make one of those. Makes me think of the vaults on fallout 3.

    I dunno.

It seems kinda blown out of proportion to me.
So what if there's a stockpile of seeds somewhere..

Hmmm, not what i was expecting. I thought you guys meant some sort of bomb shelter lol. But anyways reminds me of the part in the bible where they locked away loads of grain for the famine.

I was expecting a bomb shelter kind of thing lol.

I think this is kind of extreme, what could possibly happen that would wipe out all sorts of seeds? I mean.. If they're wiped out, what about humanity?

Nuclear war could cause some pretty severe damage. I'm not sure if this will ever be used, but I think it's a cool idea. 5 million pounds really isn't that much when you look at the big scheme of things.

If there was a nuclear war, do you think humanity would survive to plant these seeds?

Apparently cockroaches are the only thing that would survive a nuclear holocaust.

I also believe that nothing can live/be planted some where for like 10 years after there has been a nuclear disaster.
