Crafting and junk trading broodoos - useful for cashing in on rares

This is one of the best, if not the best, way to turn your rares into cash without buying and dumping merched/rising items.

    First of all, requirements

    -35 crafting

-Good junk trading skills – this is the key factor in how much you make per hour. The amount you make per hour is solely dependent on how well you can do this. If you are good at this, you can make several mil per hour. If you have rares to sell junk with, even more.

So, this method consists of making broodoo shields. Yes, that “rising junk” that it seems like almost everyone has.. you earn a profit making it. There are two parts to this guide, and basically 2 steps to turning your cash into more cash. The first part is actually making the broodoos, and the second is turning them into cash.

-some cash, depends on how much junk you need, but its generally around 800k cash for 1m junk.

Part 1 - Crafting the broodoos

The first part is actually making the broodoos. This is as simple as it sounds. Each broodoo requires 1 tribal mask, 2 snakeskins, and 8 nails to make.

As of this writing, the price breakdown for these is:

    Snakesins (3935) x 2 =7970 gp

    Bronze nails (7) x 8 = 56 gp

Green: 50.0k (mask price) 71.3k (broodoo price)
    Total cost of broodoo=58,206 Profit=13.2k % of initial investment=122.5%

White: 47.5k (mask price) 71.2k (broodoo price)
    Total cost of broodoo=55.5k Profit=15.7k % of initial investment=128.3%

Tan: 39.1k (mask price) 59.7k (broodoo price)

    Total cost of broodoo=47.1k Profit=12.6k % of initial investment=126.7%

(prices at making of guide, no longer relevant)

Some of these take a while to buy, and the limit on tribal masks is 100/4 hours. I would recommend buying all three colors to get them the fastest. Everything should buy overnight, unless you leave a very large offer in.

These are pretty simple to make. Just use a hammer with a tribal mask, with the other parts in you inventory. I suggest setting up your inventory like this:

With the placeholders, when you withdraw 8 tribal masks, they will automatically surround the hammer. Unfortunately, this isn’t spam-clickable, but it still goes pretty fast (there is a rythme to it, like most things, due to the way the game engine “ticks” operate). click on the next mask as soon as you hear the sound begin for making the previous one.

This is also pretty good crafting xp. Each broodoo takes around 4 seconds, including banking time, so you can get around 900 per hour, if you concentrate. Since each broodoos gives 100 crafting xp, this is around 90k crafting xp/hour.

Assuming 900 broodoos per hour, the profit for this part is between 11.3m and 14.1m per hour. No, that is not a typo.

Here's an example. I wasn’t going steady, so I didn’t time it, but it probably took 1 to 1½ hours.

nails arent up there, since they can be slow to buy, but they were under 100k

Part 2 - Trading off the broodoos

Now you have all these useless broodoos in your bank. If you started out with a 60m investment though, it should be around 75m now. Of course, broodoos are considered junk…..

This is basically a junk trading guide. There are already several other good guides on this forum that you should use.

-if you are not extremely confident in your junk-trading skills, stock up on rares before you make the broodoos. Buy smaller items (bobs, battle pieces, ect.) and trade away the junk, then buy some more. This allows you to avoid sitting on junk for longer periods of time, and have less junk to get rid of at once, which means you don’t lose as much money when the GE updates. You also know about how much junk you are able to handle at once, and can plan accordingly. You still trade away about the same amount of junk, but you have the advantage of doing it on your time, and of having more cash to buy items 60/40 or whatnot.

To figure out your profit per hour. use this formula: profit per hour (in millions)=13/(1+65/x) where x is the amount you can junk trade away per hour, in millions.
Of course, this becomes far more profitable if you have rares to sell the junk with.

You can always sell your junk to junk buyers here on Sythe, but I guess at a rate of 15m/hr that could get kind of expensive.
