Close your eyes and think. Think about life. Think about not being here after death. Think about this being it. Does it make your head spin? It has always been far too much for me to take in. My greatest fear is not death, but what happens (or doesn't) after.

Why is the thought of death so greatly overwhelming?

Why worry about what you can't control?

I'm not sure if God exists, but I absolutely believe in a higher power.

Doesn't that make it more sensible to worry about?

Living in the moment for what? Doesn't it all seem so trivial? For all we know we are living in vain.

I don't think of my life in that way, as long as I'm happy now and continue to make myself stay happy, why worry about what happens when i'm no longer to control it. So why I am in control I continue to keep myself happy.

Because to ignore is to be ignorant, and I cannot fathom the state of not being alive.

I do this sometimes. I'm pretty sure death is just like when you get knocked out. Your whole state of consciousness just vanishes.

Though I hope that isn't true, because that'd be no fun whatsoever.

" Were not living, were dying. "

Its all about how you look at things if you ask me, i myself have a very cheerful attitude, and it doesn't bother me that someday all of this will be gone, hopefully by then I've had as much as i wanted from life, if not, it's probably my fault I didn't. I imagine death is just an endless sleep, still being able to dream. Energy can neither be created or destroyed, it can only be altered, so whether your conscious of it or not, you still remain somewhere, in space, in airwaves, somewhere your still out there. Somewhere everyone is still out there. I'm not referring to a heaven or a hell, I myself am an atheist, i just believe that after death, you remain in a "dream-state".

Death itself isn't so over whelming for me, just see it as have as much fun as you can, because one day for certain it will all be gone.

How can we dream without a functioning brain?

I'm glad that I am not alone.

I've always wondered if sometimes people kill themselves because of their curiosity of what death is like.

I personally believe, well, hope, that we become reincarnated. This sounds no better than believing in a god but I hope we do get reincarnated. As for my beliefs, I believe in science, and there's nothing to prove what happens after death so I can't say.

My philosophy that helps me cope with death is that I look at the next person being born into the world after i die as just me being reincarnated with out a memory.

Who says we cant? Not as if anyone has come back from the dead, reporting they didn't. It also depends on what definition of death your going by i guess, death being when brain activity haults completely, or when the heart stops beating. Many people report after "death" experiences, now if they're bogus or not we'll never know, your only entitled to your own opinion.

I myself believe in ghost, and therefor am going to say that after death you could still dream ( You might as well ignore this if you don't believe in ghost in the first place.) If a ghost can walk/float around, or whatever it may be, if it can move solid objects without a scientific explanation, who's to say it cant dream as well?

I think about this much more than many I'm sure... every day almost. The transferring of consciousness to another human being or body when you die (reincarnation) is just too absurd for me to believe - and while many believe that there is no life after death, I, and I'm sure so many others do hope there is something... because your mind just completely disappearing forever is unfathomable... and then it makes me wonder what the heck am I working towards my whole life? Why do we bother?

Depressing, but I do understand what you mean.

I'm sure it happens all the time.

I used to find reincarnation the most believable form of an afterlife. I don't really have the same feelings about it now.

I can absolutely relate on the second point. I've questioned why I am conscious in this body as opposed to anybody else in the world. Another question that really gives you a headache.

Exactly. A deeply disturbing thought that chills me to the bone.
