He's saying you need to work on all of your muscles not just your abs.

I get what he is saying but the guide is about how to get abs and only abs. I may eventually write a full fitness guide one day if I decide to start that adventure.

Use the ones listed in the guides for starters but also you should definitely be trying to up the number of reps you do with your pushups. Other then that, if you are a smaller kid, just keep building that muscle mass up, it'll come and if you are a bigger kid like I was, keep jogging and eating well, shit pays off.

This is a great guide but the pictures are a bit unrealistic. Take some pics of it in real life.

Anyway, I personally believe bicycle crunches and side planks are by far the best. It feels like a good work out to me.

And you might want to add in some common myths about protein shakes, Gatorade, ect ect.

Ah After, very true dude the pics are unrealistic and I should, if the guide gets enough attention I certainly will do it. Also, I am considering just getting more detailed on here generally.

This is a great guide... The only thing is you need to make it a bit more... "elegant" I guess you could say. Like someone stated earlier, the guide seems slightly unattractive. Other than that, perfect. Perhaps add how to do the plank in a bit more detail (where to position your elbows, if you're supposed to do any movement, etc). I just recently started working out. Within 2 weeks, I went from no muscle on my arms, no muscle on my chest, no muscle on my abdomen (even a bit of fat, really) to being toned. I'm not UBER muscly, but I'm toned now. All with pushups. I'd love to recommend people with barely any muscle to start with pushups. They're simple and effective. They train biceps, chest, abs, a lot... The thing is, most people do 20, rest, do 20, rest, do 20... If you do them until you simply can't get up anymore, you'll gain muscle, FAST. I do about 100-250 pushups a day, just to give you an idea :p...

Overall, amazing guide. Make it "pretty" and you'll have a perfect guide. Hope you make a complete fitness guide...

Hell, this guide even motivated me to work out just now :D
Off to do another 50 or so pushups. Already did 100 today ;P

    EDIT: I just did another 100 ;3

Glad to hear I inspired you my man, keep working and it will start to pay off. I am probably going to do a full fitness guide here and I will also make it more appealing with equal graphics. I thank you for your praise as well. Good luck.

very cool to see a fitness guide on here. too many people give into eating crap foods and literally get addicted to the stuff.

a side note, your guide says "don't eat just fruits and veggi" and also "meat has protein" well, meat has a lot of bad stuff too, and after eating it you piss out calcium for the next 2 hours. if you don't have extra it takes it from your bones. cholesterol is only found in meat and dairy too. and lastly it would be IMPOSSIBLE to build a vegetarian or vegan diet that lacks protein. nuts, fruits, have protein, rice, TONS of things.

just saying you can definitely do all this without eating meat at all. there's MMA fighters / body builders who don't eat it. cutting out soda is probably the easiest thing you can do, stop drinking soda start eating fruit. make smoothies. corn syrup doesn't send signals to your brain that say stop eating, real sugar does. that's why people can drink 20 soda's in a day no problem.

anyway health is the ultimate luxury. reading about nutrition can only help. i would also advise looking into a multivitamin, but not something like centrum or any daily 1 pill. those have synthetic vitamins which are crap, and harmful binders in the pills themselves.

Dermal you bring up all very good points. I cannot believe I forgot that peanuts and other nuts provide protein, pretty dumb move on my part, my b. I just always get my protein from the meats I eat. The most important thing to remember is that body types do vary, thus what certain people eat might work for them and it may not work for others. I appreciate your input though.

To the guy two posts up, it's all about cardio now.

I don't see anything in the guide about reps?

Like any other muscle, ab hypertrophy is hit in the 5-10 range. People who do 100 situps at a time are just wasting their time really. They are only defining their abs if anything, not actually adding mass to their abs. Adding mass to your abs will make your abs stick out more (hypertrophy.)

I agree with you ^^ I kind of made this fairly quickly and I understand I could have written up a detailed workout but it's more just to give people an idea. If they are looking at this guide, they probably just need a general idea of how to get started, not a rigid workout.

Good guide, I personally don't eat what I'm supposed to, but I work out alot. I'm pretty small person 5foot4, 50kilos.
I have a pack, mainly because I'm small. I usually only do situps, because Idk it's all I could feel like, this threads motivated me to do the others. XD

Great guide may want to bring up swimming in your cardio category as it's fun to and works out a variety of muscles and is just as good if not better than running.I don't know if your guide is really meant to get into to much detail but you may also want to explain proper running form as many athletes tend to run with improper form which can result in a number of injuries, the most common is probably shin splints.Shin splints are a pain and once you get them they are very hard to get rid of, so anyone reading this for your own sake learn to run with good form and to use proper footwear.
