The DRAGONFIRE shield and MY Theory on it

Ok, so basically the new update for soaking has come out, which has rendered a panic of the dfs crash (because of the no soak on it). People have claimed that jagex did not give dfs/ss any soaking because they already contain specials. In my opinion, I think the dragon fire shield will only crash a couple of mill before stabilizing because of the fact of the defense bonuses it provides and its still the best anti-dragon fire-breath shield still.

 

I agree, it won't drop by much until stabilising.

DFS/BSS should be provide some minor absorption, however it's not a big deal that it didn't get one. They will still remain decent shields due to it's bonuses. The people who are crying a shit storm are idiots who don't comprehend the usefulness of the item originally

 

TBH, i cant even see them dropping alot, their still one of the best shields in the game regardless of soaking..

 

Tell me another left-handed item that gives +7 str? Thought so.

Dragon Defender has +6 and is free.

 

Not a shield though.

 

It'll drop a little but not much, as soaking only affects damages over 200, something you don't often get from non-boss PVM.

 

I like dragon defender more than that ;P

 

my guess is that they'll drop to around 12 - 18m.
im pissed that blessed ss doesn't have any absorbing stuff

random statement but i was thinking that the soaking abilty has now kinda in a maybe small way nerfed max hits on 1 def pures. my reason to thinking this is that def rangers and zerkers now have armour that soaks and 1 def pures dont. maybe im wrong idk

Uhh , I haven't been on rs latley until now - What happened? lol.

 

dragon defender was released and people paniced (like usual with every update) and they sold DFS. crashed 4.7mil in 72 hours. then it went back up and people thought there was hope that dfs would recover after this new dragon defender update but apparently not, price is falling down again and probably will continue to fall and im theorizing it won;t stabilize til it reaches 23mil or lower.

 

Exactly. Theres only two in all. That do the sole job of protecting fire breath lol. And at the moment street price on dfs is 18-20m. Im waiting out for stabilization.

 

It also still has incredibly good stats, just not the damage soaking.

 

Sigh, you have to understand that Jagex inst done yet. They overlooked a lot of armors and will probably get on to fixing that. Look at BCP + ACP, those two have nothing also.

 

I'm guessing it will drop to probably 17 mil, then return to about 20 and stabilize there for a while. Other shields that have soaking (such as the obby shield) are now almost as good as it in many respects so I seriously doubt it will ever return to being 30mil+.
