Pretty much every single market not involving runescape is basically supported by buyers' lack of proof to deter other buyers from that particular seller. So to speak most sections except runescape related ones, off topic, spam forum (Off topic and spam don't even need moderators)

    Thoughts/Actions?

If you report it it should be dealt with, if not then PM a market mod or global, ideally one who has experience in that section (ie Xeleration for the Steam section).

I disagree, and agree, the spam forums can get fairly out of hand sometimes, but runescape market should be at least respected

We need more people to be reporting. Also we have stepped up moderation in the Steam a lot in the past few weeks.

Ban evaders are going down in there quite a bit.

    Agreed.

Also, the off-topic section does need moderation, it's bigger than you think. I think a few promotions could be handy for example a WoW, GFX, and Programming mod could help out the respected sections.

Some places do need it.. But its not like they can approve someone overnight. I'm sure their is stuff being done behind scenes and the rest of the mods are keeping an eye out.

I thought VB mod would cover programming?

I do think, because WOW has its own huge section, it should have a mod for it.

I agree with the promotions. And I think that people with adequate experience in the topics should be chosen. (i.e someone who knows more than one language for programming; someone who is good at graphics, etc.)

Considering the lessened activities for said sections, We'd be more looking in to Giving the section to current sectional staff members rather than getting new staff to moderate them.

The OP does bring up a very good point though. Users who post negative feedback on posts can be squelched by the "no proof, gtfo" clause. I think this allows faulty sellers to operate much more easily. When I was moderating, I would always leave users' negative feedback on posts. If users can leave a positive review without proof, they should be able to leave a negative as well. Many users simply do not acquire enough proof to get a fraudulent user banned, but at the very least they should be able to voice their opinion after a bad trade.

However it is done doesn't matter, it would just be best to appoint someone that knows what they are doing to the sections, rather than someone that barely knows much about the topic.

I agree, most of the time when I look in the report a spammer archive, its usually the same group of people that keeps reporting.

I think a WoW moderator is needed, in my opinion.

I disagree, I think that Moderators shouldn't even moderate threads. If you have a problem, report it. If you see someone else doing something wrong, report it. Then we don't even need moderators.

The Global Moderators handle reports from those sections.

If false negative reports were handled on equal grounds as false positive reports, or fake vouches, I think this would be excellent. Ie. If the seller can prove the person is slandering them then a similar penalty would be raised. If not possible to prove, the unverified negative feedback stands ground with the unverified positive feedback and is rated solely on the credibility of the member giving it, just like any vouches for transactions a user has not personally witnessed take place or participated in.

Positive feedback is taken solely on a members word anyways if no evidence is left, why not allow the same for negative feedback as long as the penalty for falsifying is the same.
