How to truly become a successful Youtuber.

I have a lot of experience in video editing and also have a youtube account with plenty of subscribers :). However, this information is private and is only available to Sanity members. ;-).

To become successful, you need views. To get views, you need subscribers. Don't go round sending comments such as "sub4sub". It's useless and won't get you far at all.

You need to have a theme to your videos. For example, if you were uploading videos on how to cook, you would want to make multiple videos around the same length, but you wouldn't want to then upload a video on how to kill a monster in a game.

The key to success is the quality of your videos. When there is quality, you will have people spreading the word.

    Creating your video
I would advise Sony Vegas (latest version) for good/professional video editors.
For amateurs, I would advise using Windows Movie Maker, or even Camtasia Studios (latest version).

It is important that you choose the right video editing software for you. Make sure that you save your videos in the best quality possible.

Your video obviously due to Youtube's restrictions must be within 10 minutes. Depending on what you show, will affect the length of your video. So if it was a cooking video, 10 minutes would be fine.
However, if it was someone speaking about someone, you'd want to shorten it to about 3 minutes.

Construct each of your videos in the same format. Have a 5-20 second introduction in all of your videos, and finish off the same way. This way, your subscribers will remember you better.
Make sure that the content is fast paced so edit well.

    Uploading your video
Your tags, and description are all important. But actually, the title is the most important of all. Once again, if you are doing a cooking video, check your competitors videos who have 100k's of views and see what their titles are. Use the same words for your title and you will more likely hit the views. The tags should be filled up, and add a good description full of words that might relate to (e.g) cooking.

Annotations are actually incredibly annoying to subscribers. So make sure that you limit them as much as possible. If you are to use them, then ONLY put them when the video has finished, otherwise your subscribers, and other watcher will get mad and leave your videos.

    USE THE INSIGHT BUTTON!
Click on Hotspots and you will notice where people leave your video and where people enjoyed parts of your video the most. It helps you decide what they want. Read their comments carefully and go along with what the average subscriber asks for. Make sure that you build a relationship with your subscribers too.

How do they get those views?
Well actually, it is all luck. That's the truth. They uploaded the video with the right title, at the right time. It randomly hit the front page, and so everyone clicked it and saw it. That's how most of the extremely popular youtubers started off anyway. An example would be the "charlie bit my finger" video which has over 100m views. The owner's other videos have around 1m views.

So, it is all by chance. That is why creating as many videos as you can is extremely important. Make constant updates and you will be recognized. Subscribers will come to you.

Your channel is not extremely important but should include your videos in an easy way for subscribers to access.

If you're looking to hit the top of the charts, with 10m's of views, then you would probably want to pay for advertisement. By doing this, you get your video promoted and will most likely get a lot of views.

I hope that this helps you become a truly successful video creator.

    Good Luck!

Before reading the guide I already knew every thing that was written but to a basic user they may not know a few things like the insight button. Overall I think your guide is lacking something that you can't find else where. Pretty much every thing you have can be found on google, and since your guide is how to "truly" becomes successful then I would expect some of your own tips not just a few common ones that most people already know. That's just my advice but if your going to use it ever for a re-application then I would buff it up a bit.

I'm not likely to re-apply and what you said didn't make any sense to me.

1.Your first sentence is not about my guide as you said "before reading..."
    2.Your second sentence is incomprehensible.
    3. You told me that you would expect my own tips when all I have given is my own tips. I made no research into these findings and so they are my tips.
4."Your" in your last line is meant to be "you're."
If you are to reapply I suggest that you buff it up a bit, but that's just my advice.

    Thanks anyway.

    Picky, picky.

His first sentence is about your guide. He meant to say that he already guessed most of the things that would be in this guide before he started reading, and that tips like these are easily available on Google.

As for his second sentence, he means to say, "I think that your guide is lacking something, that is, your own unique advices that are not easily found on the internet."

Since you added 'truly' to the title, readers would expect a longer and richer guide. It's quite misleading.

Thanks for the translation into English.

I don't think he meant what you put about the "truly" sentence. But I'd like to say that the word 'truly' is defined by, the accordance with truth or fact or reality. So it's not about length, it's about reality and truth.

Okay seriously? Gurt got it right. I don't understand how that was so hard for you? I'm basically saying that your guides lacks creativity and a personal twist. Every thing in your guide can be found else where even though your tile suggests you giving secret tips.

You're taking the meaning of 'truly' too literally.

If I make two guides, 'how to fall in love' and 'how to truly fall in love', don't you think readers would expect much more from the second one? Similarly, your guide is pretty short considering the title, and has nothing that can't be found elsewhere.

Don't take this the wrong way, I'm not trying to insult you. I'm not much of a great guide writer myself. You can still expand this thing so Bubba can complain no longer.

    Only fools buy those.

It seems that people here wanting to be UE's or UE's themselves only know how to post about how a guide can be better quality based on a quick scan of the guide. I have yet to read a post from one of these people who quote something specific which suggests that they have actually read everything. For which reason, I think it's better that these comments are not to be posted and that if they are to post, it should be a positive/negative to what the guide says.

Your guide is pretty basic, which I guess is somewhat easy to understand for someone who has not even thought about becoming a "Youtuber", but it is lacking some depth.

I'd also like to add, Ritchy, you really are a grade-A ass. Try having some respect for people. It seems like you hold a grudge against anyone with a UE title or anyone aspiring to have one, probably because they haven't totally agreed with your guides on multiple occasions. Learn to take some criticism every now and then, rather than fire back like a butthurt prick.

Hey Ritchy. I think that your guide consist of a few helpful tips when creating videos for a youtube account, but really most of it is just common sense. I think that your guides are getting somewhat better over time, but there are still some things you could improve on. As for this guide I think that you could have been a little bit more detailed on some parts of your guide, and also you could have added in a few more sections on how to be a better "youtuber" as the guide itself looks a little small for my taste. For instance your guide really only consist on the process of making/uploading a video and then on a another part on how some users get lucky when making youtube videos. Although you added a few useful tips I there, I think that you could have expanded a bit more.

As for the overall look of your guide I think it looks pretty good. You didn't center all of your text, and also your pictures correspond well with your information. The only thing I would suggest with this is adding in a little bit of spark to your text. I think that white is a good color for a professional guide, but using the bold/size tool now again doesn't hurt.

    Hope this helps.

    Edit:
Lay off a little. Bubba is trying to give you constructive criticism on your guide, and you obviously are not taking it very well. He is just trying to help you out with your guide, yet you come back by critiquing what he wrote.

If you are posting that quote towards me, then you must have not read my critique completely. I read completely through your guide, and even did point out some specifics:
If that quote was not positioned towards me, then i'm sorry.
