Just a stupid question. What if i somehow supported the swastika? What if i supported the millions of jews killed? What if i hated all those jews and wanted to get killed. Why will i get arrested if i show off my swastika T shirt? What if i loved hitler? Im not saying i do but i was just wondering since People on Black ops are getting pissed off with people with the swastika emblems. discuss
It doesn't really affect me, but it annoys me when I see people displaying it. Imagine how offensive it could be to someone who lost relatives in the holocaust, to see the image that represents everything their relatives killers stood for. I think that people should just have a bit of tact and common sense. You have to realise that it is inevitably going to offend some people so you should be considerate and not use the symbol. What is the point anyway? Is there any real need to bring up such a controversial icon in a video game? People know the connotations it has so why is it necessary...?
Swastikas should not be offensive unless it is used in a Nazi context, as it was a symbol of peace long before Hitler used it.
How it affects them? That shouldn't be any of the person who's displaying it's concern. Would the people of the U.S. Not display the flag because they weren't thinking of the people of japans feelings? If someone gets offended then that's their own damn problem, just because they're overly sensetive to the subject doesn't mean anyone should lessen or not express their ideals. Not everyone who wears a swastika supports the holocaust though just saying, there are alotta people like me that just thought Hitler was a great leader and although we don't support the idea of the killing of the jews we understand why he did it, what the circumstances were, and thus give the Reich the respect it should recieve. Are we saying kill all the jews? No were simply showing part of our ideals, and yes the swastika also means peace in Buddhism and many forms of religion before that.
The swastika does have more than one use, but it's main use is for negative purposes. Words/symbols does have multiple meanings, but if you were told a man was wearing a swastika on his shirt; would the first thought be meaning good luck?
I would give you a high five for being so open about your beliefs. People that get offended need to stop. Especially if nothing is directed at them.
In most cases the swastika isn't offensive. The swastika has been a Hindu sign for fertility for thousands of years. If you want to wear your swastika t-shirt there is nothing we can do about it. Some people might get offended by it but they can't act on it. And contrary to popular belief some people actually do love Hitler. I used to live in German when I was younger and I specifically remember going to a older couples house for dinner one night. There was a framed picture of Adolf himself hanging on the wall. It's one of the few memories that I have of that time of my life. Hope this helped. -Dud
