"Trusted" User Image

THIS THREAD IS NOT ABOUT THE "HIGHLY TRUSTED" RANK THAT CURRENTLY EXISTS!!@!@!@


After seeing the conclusion of my old thread, I have realized the Highly Trusted rank shouldnt be taken as lightly as I percieved it should, and I do support its ending.

I still believe the idea itself though should still be considered, Thus the creation of this thread, a "Trusted" user image.


Hi, I am an avid sythe purchaser, and I am a 50$ donator as you can obviously see, and I have been on sythe for over a year now.

Over the year, I have noticed the incessant "I DONT CARE IF YOU HAVE 5000 VOUCHES I GO FIRST CAUSE IM LEGIT WITH MY 2 VOUCHES". Now, I have nothing against them saying that, and I have gone first in every trade except maybe two or three. (See my vouch thread in signature for verification). I believe the highly trusted user image should be of utmost respect, and as they are so few, it truly is.

Now here comes the suggestion:

I believe members should have a realistic chance of becoming a "Trusted" member through a set list of requirements, or something of the sort, involving rigourous checking and proof.

Step 1:
Submitting a 10$ fee to the Sythe Administrator in charge of doing the following steps, so he isn't getting 10000 applications every day. Also meant to ward off people that arent serious, or aren't legitimate. THIS RULE BEING TO BE CONSIDERED. DONT SHOOT ME DOWN FOR THIS
Step 2:
Verifying your home addresss and phone number with a Sythe Administrator.
Step 3:
Obtaining 25 High Quality vouches to be examined by an Sythe Administrator (What I mean by high quality is none of that "Vouch for poo, got me 25-27 strength free, ultra trusted" crap.)
Step 4:
A certain period of active account time. Say, 6 Months, a year?

If all of those tests pass, I see no reason as to why they should not have access to that. Very few, if any, scammer would go through the pain, or even be able to pass those tests, to earn this rank. Think about it.

PLEASE DONT SHUT THIS THREAD DOWN 10 MINUTES IN, LETS GETS SOME OPINION FIRST, IM UP FOR CHANGE.

You do know Sythe (the owner) gives out the rank himself to people he can trust.

 

Cosrob, the rank doesnt even exist..yet..Highly Trusted, exists yes, and is only given hand-picked by Sythe. Trusted is a new rank, below that, in theory.

Please read more carefully next time, in the first paragraph i Clearly say, and I quote, "After seeing the conclusion of my old thread, I have realized the Highly Trusted rank shouldnt be taken as lightly as I percieved it should, and I do support its ending. "

 

My apologies for not reading it.

But I still think it won't work. It will take too much time and effort for people to verify where they live, phone numbers, etc. How would you verify where somebody lives? Couldn't they give a fake address?

Along with a couple other issues.

 

Cosrob, as for it would take to long to verify, thats why I added the 10$, that would eliminate to many applications, please read my post thoroughly, and as for how to verify, why not have an Administrator send a letter to the address we provide, with a certain code inside, to which we PM them, like a codeword to make sure we got it, thus making sure the address is verified.

 

A "verified seller" rank should be more appropriate here, just my opinion

 

I've read your post throughly and I still think it won't work.

Also, isn't it against the law to ask minors for personal details? Like were you live and your phone number.

 

Sounds nice in theory, but its difficult to quantify the requirements for such a process.

 

All the more reason to do it! Doing such a strenuous process is all the more likely only a legitimate person would do it. And the 10$ fee would make an administrator more likely to be willing to comply.

If it is sent with their parent's consent, with a signature, It is legal. Or, even if they cant, I dont think we should eliminate this for everyone else.

I think that is an excellent suggestion that can work, but there is no reason to eliminate this in return for that.

 

This also makes the mods/admin/whoever is in charge of this process liable for the actions whom they deem "trusted". Right now, I like it how it is: the buyer is the only one responsible for deciding the trust of the seller. This way, the buyer is the only one at fault.


For example, say the mods decide I'm a trusted account seller. This I means have much more freedom in account selling, as people will give even more trust (and more than I deserve) to me. If I decide to commit scams, then it's partially the mod's fault for instilling the trust in me. In this current system, it's really only the buyer's fault if he gets scammed.

Consider the flipside: a seller who cbf sending Sythe $10 for a "Trusted" rank that he thinks is meaningless because he's already generally trusted by the community. In this instance, it might become suspicious that the person is not "Trusted" (even though he or she has 100+ vouches, etc) because he isn't willing to pay the $10 fee. Where the buyer really just doesn't want to waste his money for a rank, people might read into it more and suspect something.

Basically, I'm not for it. I'd rather let the market decide who is trusted and who is not. The vouches system we have is fairly decent, and IMO the only way to improve it would be to make a legitimate way of negative feedback.

 

A valid concern.

Though it should be expressed if this suggestion comes to be in place, that even with a trusted rank that doesn't qualify as 100% safe.

But I mean seriously fella's, tell me how many scammers would go through this process, I dont see any scammer actually willing to register his address, his phone number, all those vouches, and a 10 dollar fee just to scam.

After all, we want constructive criticism right, not just criticism, and I assure you, all concerns WILL be addressed.

 

So then it will come to this do people that have donated get exempt from the $10 fee.....yes, because we've already donated to the site and I consider myself trusted by most. The rest of verifying is easy as far as paypal address that you've used and quality vouches.

 

Not going to happen.
