I know it's been mentioned before, all in all.

I just figured to re-post it 'cause I'm not sure what everyone thinks about it.
So lately, I've been lurking around at threads, and all I see is "[Trusted]" in the name tags. On top of that, most of them have ~100 post count + don't even have vouches/nor a vouch thread.

I think it should be stopped, what about you?

Just use common sense. If a leecher puts trusted in their title, have a chuckle and move on. They are not fooling anyone, so no harm done IMO.

I'm pretty sure it's always been, pretty much the same thing as putting [EX-ADMIN][$300 Donator] when your a leecher and haven't donated anything.

OT: I am a bit mixed on the subject, and I think that the point FireZ is making is good.

It wasn't made official, but it was an all round agreement by the upper staff - putting [Highly Trusted] in your thread title when you clearly are not is misleading, and you're lying in order to direct potential traffic to your business. Being trusted is something that other members vouch upon, you cannot be self-proclaimed.

meh, those are quantifiably false, though, like you either are, or are not, an admin or a donor. Trust is a subjective concept, so you cant really allow or not allow something like that I think.

Subjective, but still needs to be substantiated.

Just seems unrealistic to do so. For instance, to a leecher with 1 post a 2 month member with 10 vouches selling a pin may be deemed as trusted in that context, for that trade. However I highly doubt I would take the users paypal if I were to sell him a cracker for $1200. It just varies too much with the context I feel, and honestly its pretty harmless if they put silly tags in the title like [trusted/experienced] which really dont mean anything.

As long as you don't put anything that is a rank or ex-rank (omm, ex admin, highly trusted) etc etc were not going to do anything to your titles. (When you dont have/havent had that rank)

A lot of people use them and most people ignore them.

Why is it not made official in a sticky prohibiting the use of the trusted tag if the upper staff seem to agree on it?

Highly trusted only. Reason I believe is because it happens very very rarely.

Want me to make the damned thing and then you could just stick it? Or is that too much work too? Seriously though. It would take 20 seconds to do. :/

No I think it's okay. I would assume the main reason for there being no sticky/rule is it's common knowledge that lying about a rank in your thread title would be clearly against the rules - and we rarely see any cases of it happening.

Yea, i do think you should put it as a rule because imo it's not right to warn/infract people for rules that weren't shown.
