More rule-enforcement in the 100-138 pures/skillers section

I like how there have been recent rule changes to the 100-138 pures/skillers section but these new rules seem to be going unenforced.

What does not belong here

* Any Runescape account which is not a pure/skiller* and/or under level 99.

Explanation of pure/skiller:

A "Pure" has HIGH dependent stats (Attack, Strength, Magic, and Ranged), and LOW independent stats (Prayer, Hitpoints, Defense, and Summoning)

The LOWER the INDEPENDENT stats are, the more PURE you are. Tanks, barrows and bandos pures belong in the main section.

A quick look at this section reveals numerous tanks and barrows pures for sale, not to mention other accounts whose owners don't even bother claiming are pures. There are more level 138's for sale on the first page than there are actual pures for sale!

For the record, I counted 4 pures for sale in the first 2 pages of the pures section, meaning only 10% of accounts posted within this section are actually pures.

As it stands, both sections are just about equally active (It takes 3 hours and 20 minutes for an unbumped thread on the first page of mains to move to page 2, 3 hours and 40 minutes for an unbumped thread in skillers), and many people have simply taken to using both sections to post their accounts. I wouldn't bother making this post if it weren't for this fact. If the pures/skillers section wasn't very active, then sure, it's not a big deal, but the fact that both sections are just as equal is definitely a problem.

It's extremely inefficient for anyone looking to buy an account that's level 100+, since there are essentially two identical sections. As a result, sellers will post their account in both sections, knowing that buyers look in both sections.

This has becomes a large positive feedback loop that, for everyone's sake, should be stopped. Mods, rules are useless unless enforced, please start moving the non-pures within the pure section to the main section, where they belong.

The issue lies within the definition of a pure/skiller that is over level 100. As you have stated, people are getting confused and posting in both sections. I feel that it would be better if we combined the two high level sections together, so we just have low level/medium section for pures/skillers rather then 3 section for pures/skillers.

In my opinion this would stop the confusion, for both the account sellers (and some mods - including me) and keep the pure/skillers section much more cleaner.

 

I thought this might work too, but there are still many potential pures that lie within the 100-138 mark. A maxed berserker can have a combat level of up to 125, and I felt that having a section for pures level 50-125 was just too broad. Maybe a section for levels 1-62 and one for 63-125. And if you're going to be changing the sections up, I think it's worth dropping the word "skiller" from every section but the lowest one

 

I see wrong accounts there all the time, Just report it and get it moved to the proper section.

 

It'd be better to adopt a more preventive measure as opposed to letting these wrong threads be created and then reporting them. I'm happy to see that there's already been more mod involvement in this section-a new sticky for starters. And the number of misplaced threads has dropped significantly; hopefully this is a permanent change

 

I think you should get rid of the level differential and just have Pures - Skillers - Mains - Other

 

Nobody actually reads all the stickys before posting a thread the first time.
You can't prevent people making mistakes.
All you can do is make it happen less-often.

 

I fully agree, it is annoying to look @ main topics while looking for a pure.

Barrow pures are aight, I just don't like the maxed mains etc.

 

The definition of a pure is entirely arbitrary, just like the definition of a skiller. There is a loose basis and understood expectations, but you can't really tell a person that they don't fall into the standards of a slang definition.

If anything, I would say the definition of a pure has evolved into an account in which the stats have a purpose and there is no excess past goals or requirements.

 

Of course, but look at the section and you'll find plenty of accounts with like 86 defense, 99 in everything, etc. There are definitely accounts that are pures above level 100 cb, but most of the section has just been filled with mains.
