    I think that it is because of there were no fees deducted from the transaction.

    This, they changed it from "gift from" a while back.

    You realize you can opt to pay the fee yourself when you send a payment. Not to mention that when you do send payments as a gift, there is still a paypal fee. Whenever I sell items I'm worried about being paid for as a gift I ask for a view-only teamviewer session to watch the buyer send the payment. That request has yet to be rejected.

    Double post because my phone doens't have a modify button, but it says "You've got funds" vs the normal "You've got money". I would say it was sent as a gift.
