The Four Globals Situation

You see, in most situations, having only four Global Moderators would be a problem. If you were to ask me, I'd say 6 is a good number. 6 people, all doing a fair amount of work, getting the job done, no problems. So you can assume that there would be either:

- Work that's not getting done.

or

- Shoddy Work.

But that isn't the case here at Sythe.org. We've simply got four global moderators, two of whom I actually know exist.. But things are still working out just fine. This system will work just fine because we've got three people who don't do all that much, and one who is in the most literal sense, a slave. Think of it as the nerd you invite to be in your group for a project in school... you could get the job done without him, but than you'd actually have to do some work. So you bring this nerd kid into the group, he does all the work, things work out, no complaints right?

This explanation makes it clear that we don't actually need more moderators. All we need is to feed the slave with compliments and the occasional pat on the back.

+1 Point to whoever can guess who the slave is.

 

And you are basing this on what?

Can you view mod logs?
Can you view infraction logs?
Can you view control panel logs?
Can you view the staff lounge?

If not, then don't talk.

 

You're really underestimating the amount of work 4 globals can do. They do a ton of work outside of what a regular member can see on top of that. You're basing this all off of numbers you deem insignificant.

 

Your assessment is actually quite denigrating. No staff members are ''slaves''; they help this site out of their own free will and in order to better the site.

 

Its pretty scary how wrong you are.

Alteranz, Nick and SMR Do a huge amount of work, who did you think used to do the Global work before FireZ was promoted?

The best way to explain it is imagining the global work is an Iceberg, 40% is above the surface - The Stuff you, the general public of sythe.org - see, Scam reports, disputes, And these kind of threads, answering the public. Theres a whole Load of that you don't see get done underneath the surface, Some including Changing Avatars, Banning users, and Voting and help implementing changes into Sythe.org, which personally, I can vouch that ALL Globals contribute to.

FireZ is good yes, He's online an extreme amount and gets through the scam reports very well. But it doesn't mean that the others are bad in any way.

 

Why does this need another thread ?

 

I really dont see the huge issue. Shit gets done around here lately, and slack gets picked up by many people when necessary. If they need more staff, they will promote them, and FireZ is complimenting the globals nicely.
