99 cooking or 99 firemaking?

What one is the fastest and cheapest one? btw Im f2p

would be happy if you wrote down how much each skill cost tho.

 

I think in f2p, cooking is a little cheaper.

I'd have more respect for someone with firemaking though.

Firemaking would cost between 2.3 and 4.3m depending on whether you use maples or willows.
Cooking would probably cost in the range of 2m as well.

 

I dont have the exact calculations but I know that if you buy the raw materials (I.E no fishing or woodcutting) its firemaking. I will do the math then post or PM the conclusion. Whats your levels as of now?

If you do do firemaking, I suggest you spend the ~4m to get it with maples.

Maples give 50% more xp than willows, so in the end it saves you burning ~50k logs in total.

 

How long would it take 50-99 with maples?

 

Well it's like 150k xp/hr with maples, so it would take 80 hours or so?

Okay, assuming you have an even 40k exp in firemaking you would need 144,383 willows or the maple alternative 96,256 maples.

Willows: 144,383 at a price of 16GP a pop equals out to 2,310,328 GP'
Maple: 96,256 at a price of 45GP a pop equals out to 4,335,520 GP' (More expensive, but will save you time.)

Now assuming you have an even 81k exp in cooking here are the ways I would go about doing it on one constant fish.

Salmon: 135,828 needed for 99, 58GP raw, 58GP cooked.
Raw would cost 7,878,024
Cooked would sell for the same price, assuming you didn't burn ANY.

Tuna: 122,245 needed for 99. 126GP raw, 91GP cooked.
Raw would cost you 15,280,625
Cooked would sell for 11,124,295 assuming you didnt burn ANY.
Costing you all in all, 4,156,330

Lobsters: 101,871 needed for 99, 202GP raw 159GP cooked
Raw would cost you 20,577,942
Cooked would sell for 16,197,489 assuming you didnt burn ANY.
Costing you all in all, 4,380,452

Swordfish: 87,318 needed for 99 384GP raw 369GP cooked.
Raw would cost you 33,530,112
Cooked would sell for 32,220,342 assuming you didnt burn ANY.
Costing you all in all 1,209,770.

I would go after 99 firemaking because it is a better ranked skill than cooking and is more respected, so hey if i were you, i would just go for fm man

 

I used the firemaking bot from rsbots.net and got around 110k xp/hr burning maples and that's not too bad. I would suggest getting 99 firemaking as the cooking cape is very common.

 

Prob firemaking for f2p, sups will be very easy to get and it is the same rate of training if u were to be p2p, and for cooking its a lot easier when a member

 

I would get firemaking, for the cape is much nicer and the emote is cooler =)

 

in f2p firemaking is cheaper because with cooking in f2p the best fish you can cook is swordfish and those loose alot of money i dont know the exact # but its quite a bit

OT: I would say Firemaking cape, just because the emote is cooler.

 

In f2p cooking is cheaper and firemaking is faster.

 

I'd go with firemaking as it's faster to burn willows over Salmon.
