How large is the botting community?

Currently playing: 52,949 people currently online

Right? I'm going to make a safe estimate that there are around 35,000 members of the cheating/botting communty, in general.

I'm botting 3 accounts, right now. I'm sure there are others, currently at school, or work, or otherwise busy.

Another safe estimate: 10,000 accounts being botted on at the moment. At this figure, 20% of all players online are botting. And this isn't even in peak hours (9pm Australia).

Am I right in believing Jagex when they say that they have a BIG problem on their hands? ^_^

If anyone else can calculate this out, or has, please post. I'd love to see what you've come up with. These are merely quick guesstimations.

 

There's no real way of telling, however we can certainly say there is a fair percentage of online players botting right now. Currently I'm only botting one account, and legitting one account.

And it's certainly safe to say Jagex has a bit problem on their hands, they always have.

 

I was botting rune ess, baby sitting it.

When the system update came, EVERY SINGLE MINER froze ( that's how kMiner works ), and soon logged out.

i m guessing at least 50% are botters
maybe 70% are in the cheating / rwt/ botting community

 

Personally, I don't think Jagex mind as much as we think they do. If something was done to cancel out all bots and made it impossible for players to use any sort of macro the RuneScape economy would go into shambles for a while and Jagex would lose a large amount of paying members.

 

The number of botters online at any point is easily within the tens of thousands.

Just compare the players online numbers before and after a system update.

The botting community is even larger, I'd argue, as not everyone who bots is necessarily online during a system update.

 

And about 75% of them bots are paid members

 

I bot on 3 member accounts lol

 

For instance on w44 after a system update from 1500 people it is lowered down towards 900 people.

Botters keep the game running

Botting community probally covers 3-8% of the community.

 

what he said, there are easily several thousand players who bot/cheat. notice the amount of players that drop after every update

 

I think about 50% players botting becouse when they at school or at work or they sleep they can get mils and stats and when they get home they can enjoy it.

 

If you close the door to the rune shop in Varrock, most bots won't open that door and you can really accumulate bots that way. I tried to get a screen shot but was laughing to much.

 

I play one account legitimately. Ive botted 10+ accounts.

+1, JaGex just simply cannot risk loosing all the money from people making new accounts and buying members just to farm GP.

a good 5-15% of the CURRENT online members are botters no doubt about it
i would say around 1 every 15 people who create accounts end up botting on them

 

So....isn't it obvious that they're doing something wrong? Remember when there were 200k+ players on at any one time? Wow.

Bring back normal PK'ing. If they can have botters, they can certainly fucking have RWT. If anything, it assists the community. It wasn't hurting anyone before.
