Black Ops

I retract all statements of Black Ops being a "great game".

I'd like to say that my 24 hours online has given me enough information to conclude the Black Ops is an error-filled and poorly designed game, but I'll continue to play so I can be:

1. Cheated out of kills by the amazing hit detection, even on my host
2. Knifed, or rather should I say, panic button'd in a gunfight from a ridiculous distance
3. Annoyed by the so-called gun balancing done by Treyarch

Honestly, regarding point 1, I can thoroughly say this game has the worst hit detection in recent years. We've all experienced those times where your bullets just go sailing through with no hitmarkers and we're definitely not missing. Even on host- I'll be real quick and explain how a peer-to-peer online connection system works- one player is the 'host', everyone essentially runs off of his/her connection- his/her information (bullets being shot, kills, etcetera) has to go nowhere because he/she's the host- all the other players information has to go to the host. This is where latency and lag come from, how bad it is varies with your connection speed on the hosts connection as well.

So, now that you may understand the host system, you might see why I'm pissed that my bullets just miss even on my host. It's stupid and this level of development is from the year 2003, not 2010.


Oh, the knife. This will be short and sweet. Everyone has Commando in a sense, knifing through bullets included. There's nothing like taking a bullet to the head then receiving a large quantity of lunge invincibility frames to go through even explosions and kill someone. Quality designing, Treyarch.


I'm pretty sure I mentioned the gun balancing. Here's what you need to know though.

GOD TIER

• G11
• Commando

REALLY FUCKING GOOD TIER

• AK-74u

SHIT TIER

• Everything else

I hate to be like this, but the three guns above this- absolutely broken in all respects (the AK-74u is a hit or miss, it might not be broken in all respects). The G11 is an M16 on steroids, the Commando is a fully automatic M16 with almost no recoil, and the AK-74u dwarfs all other SMGs by a long shot. Why do I say these guns are like this? These gun stats, use of them in-game, and cumulative data from other players.

The G11- probably the best assault rifle. I say this because it has no noticeable recoil, a tight hip-fire spread, and has 35 base damage- 5 damage less than the M16. Unfortunately, that doesn't matter. Both guns require all 3 bullets to hit for a kill at max damage, the G11's fast speed, no recoil, and huge clip outclass the M16 indefinitely.

The Commando- AK47 damage, ACR recoil. It also has a tight hip-fire spread. There's not much to the Commando, it's just the best automatic in the whole game.

The AK-74u just is better than the other SMGs, it's not really even that good. The above assault rifles will beat it easily, it's just the other SMGs pale in comparison to it.

Maybe these issues will be patched.

 

Eh, it's just the start of the second week man. They will fix some issues. As of now, I agree with you. The 74u is the new UMP and the G11 is a whole new class in itself.

 

The 74u really doesn't bother me, I fight fire with fire (G11 and Commando) now, and knifing is still fucking retarded.

 

im over the game already, since i play on tactical, the patch of running dropshotting and they have the advantage on major panic knife pisses me off so much..

 

I've discovered the magic of the Pure game mode. I fucking love it.

Chill out guys, they spent a year on this game, they spent 2 years on Modern Warfare 2. Of course the built in commando sucks..

Who am I kidding I raged so hard I broke the handle off of my Xbox 360 controller..

1. the ak74u is not overpowered at all the bullet drop damage on it is so huge it's not even funny it just has no sway, it is the easiest submachine to use. :facepalm: the mp5k will rape the ak74u in close range along with the mpl. idk about the others but some may also.

2. yes the panic knifing is a bitch but they are gonna patch it tommorrow. they are not gonna abandon there game like infinity ward did for mw2..they listen to feedback from players daily.

3. a worker from treyarch already said they are gonna nerf the g11 and maybe the ak74u<---(idk why).

4. idk what your deal is with the commando i heard it's not that great from friends and people from youtube.

5. the only thing i am worryed about that they probably won't fix is that if you don't have a 4 bar connection your bullets won't register whiched is fucked up.

They had the same amount of alloted time every other yearly Call of Duty game gets. Two or more years every game guaranteed. Responses in bold.

 

All companies always release a patch a month or two later. It's just apart of the process. I'm glad I read all the bad reviews during the release. Completely got my mind fixed on not buying it. Can't wait for MW3 if it comes out.

 

I got bored of the game within like a week because once you unlock all the weapons its over. Unless you really want to prestige for emblems/weapon slots which is a complete waste of time. I bought the game for like 20 bucks of here and sold it for 30 on some other website. The maps get really repetitive because they dont really have a wide variety of them. I still play bad company 2 because i just never get bored of it.

 

I am not even wasting my time getting it, I absolutely hate it.

Black Ops is just fucking terrible. I'd like to see a K/D ration for each gun, and then see how sniper rifle K/D's are at like 0.24, while G11 is 2.58 or something shit crazy.

infinity ward only did one patch didn't listen to feedback at all. treyarch. has done 3 so far lol idk why you have your hopes up for mw3 won't be out for 2years and infinity ward won't be making it anymore since they split up.

 

Looking forward to that knife patch sometime this week...

I love black ops it does have some errors but practictly a perfect game.

 

How could it possibly be a practically perfect game with some errors? The hit detection is fucked, which makes up a vast majority of a first-person shooter, the knifing is silly as shit, and the gun balancing is awful.

Knifing is supposed to be a last resort, not some fucking win-all panic button.

 

You can't drill anything into the COD fanboys.

1. don't play it if your just gonna bitch out about it.
2. Cheated out of kills..?.. you probably just suck especially if you just played it for a 24 hour time span.
3. They actually fixed the knife in this one. MW2 you could actually knife from farther away.
4.Gun balancing is fine. You obviously know nothing if your saying the only good guns in the game are commando, g11 and the ak. A lot of people feel the Famas is one of the best guns.

So before you go bashing a game I would suggest playing it for more then 24 hours.

Oh if you think it sucks then just apply for a job spot at treyarch or infinity ward then you can put in your suggestions or make your own game! GL
