there's another planet just like earth only really far away

I can imagine it..We gather up all the earths resources, 76 years later we arrive and there's no water. :/

I think that this blog was a bunch of bs, but who knows.
There's a great possibility of there being other planets that can support life, but maybe not the same forms of life that this planet can inhabit.

Oh dear... so many possibilities, so little answers. Maybe we should stop wasting billions of dollars trying to find R2D2 and actually focus on our planet and its problems, first.

 

The first thing we need to do is end war. We're no longer divided by our country but by our planet. Any war between someone on earth and another someone on earth is civil war.

I imagine we will inhabit another planet at some point, or find some kind of way of making a renewable source that we can live on. I don't know :love:

 

There's probably life there, at least the planet has what it needs to support life as far as we know. We should send a small ship with no passengers to it. As generous as that is, if there is life, they might send something back. Or maybe they're neanderthals right now and won't evolve for thousands of years, and when they do evolve maybe we'll be evolved to the green guys with funny shaped heads.

There is no evidence that the planet is another earth. If another earth is found it has to be relatively close as well. I figure we will eventually learn how to MAKE a new earth.

And lightspeed is impossible according to Newton

Where are you getting this statistic from? According to the new article you posted, the sun that the planet orbits around is 20 light years away. If we arrived in 76 years we would have to be going 1/4 the speed of light. That's 74,948,114.5 meters/second... Yeah right!

 

Maybe someday the science will do something about it but not in next 50 years lol

 

If we had a ship big enough we could travel a fourth of the speed of light TODAY. Also, don't say the speed of light is impossible, if we had a ship big enough then after 30 years of traveling straight we would reach the speed of light. When traveling the speed of light every minute of your time would be a year on earth. Time travel anyone???

I saw it all, including the other planet and how it would take all of our resources to build a ship big enough and fast enough to get there on the science channel. The ship to get to the other planet would take ALL of the resources we have on earth combined, the ship to travel the speed of light would have to be 200 times (rough estimate from the comparison they showed on TV) that ships size.

 

The TV program had it all figured out, including how we would prevent the ship from catching fire going that fast for that long.

 

I wasn't trying to start a debated discussion just informing anybody that hasn't already heard.

Flame is different to the aforementioned combustion.
Flame can exist in space, however you cannot see it; and an explosive combustion in space does not occur.
