Lateral Thinking Problems - think laterally!

I will be posting lateral thinking problems, these problems are tricky and a great fun!

1. You are driving down the road in your car on a wild, stormy night, when you pass by a bus stop and you see three people waiting for the bus

An old lady who looks as if she is about to die.
An old friend who once saved your life.
The perfect partner you have been dreaming about.
Knowing that there can only be one passenger in your car, whom would you choose?

 

The girl. If the old friend saved your life then he will surely save the old ladies life.

Oh but you said PASSENGER. You didn't say there couldn't be people in the back. So you take all 3.

 

NEXT QUESTION :

2. Acting on an anonymous phone call, the police raid a house to arrest a suspected murderer. They don't know what he looks like but they know his name is John and that he is inside the house. The police bust in on a carpenter, a lorry driver, a mechanic and a fireman all playing poker. Without hesitation or communication of any kind, they immediately arrest the fireman. How do they know they've got their man?

 

The fireman matches the description with smoke over his face?

 

wrong, this is a tricky one haha, none of my friends nor family managed to get it!

 

His fireman's uniform says 'John'

 

possible answer, but not the one i was looking for

( because you can just say that the policeman recognised his friend john...or he had the john aura . etc lolll )

Btw, the answer to the second question was :

because the rest of the people were females, and the fireman was the only male, therefore he had to be john!

There are six eggs in the basket. Six people each take one of the eggs. How can it be that one egg is left in the basket?

 

One of the eggs hatched, a chicken appeared and it laid another 2 eggs? I don't know, haha :love:

 

Did one of the people take the basket with the one last egg in it?

 

the owner of the basket is one of the six people and kept an egg

 

Just googled the egg one, I think people are cheating..
