Why do they Typically Ban Bots?

When accounts are banned for botting, is it usually because they have been reported?

I am curious because I am one day hoping to use bots on accounts to play GOP with eachother just for the sake of having specefic winners get tokens. Would there be a very very small chance of ban due to the secluded nature and lack of reports?

Or would they see that an account has been logged on everday for X hours, and ban etc. etc.?

Not really worried about multilogging, I've never heard of any repercussions.

What are your thoughts on this? I know that this may come off as a dumb question to some.

Only noobs really report bots anymore, and chances are you're going to be surrounded by them anyway. You'd probably be safe enough, just bot safe.

Getting caught botting is usually a reaction of multiple reasons. In result of getting stuck in a random, mass clicking a certain spot, being logged in for 24 hours of the day 7 days a week and much more.

Basically getting caught means that you either have tried to bot un-human like hours and seem to move the cursor in the same direction the same way and such, where as to the point its noticeable enough to say it's not a human playing.

For example: A bot isn't up to date, and it keeps mis clicking the same area (for example lets say a fire to cook on) multiple times until it finally gets it right. A human wouldn't mis click the same area X amount of times EVERY time they cook on the fire. As a result, its noticeable that your account is being ran by a bot.

It's sometimes the bot's fault, and sometimes its the users fault. I've never heard of someone that has never botted on an account get banned for macroing, yet you hear of stories of people have botted X amount of days ago, but have been playing by hand since (more of a rare occasion).

I hope this helps you understand better.

Tbh, anyone that answers your question is just guessing and giving their own theories.

Unless you work for Jagex, I don't think anyone will know what gives bots away the most (ie. Detection System vs. Reports).

From my experience and seeing others it's not primarily one thing. It varies from getting reported, staying logged on for countless hours, and following the exact same movements for hours on end. Often times when a bad quality bot is running it clicks the exact same place every single time which puts up a flag for moderators and looks very obvious to other players around you.

My first account was banned for macroing and it was completely legit, it may have been that it was summer and I went from playing 5-8 pm to playing late at night and alot more often but idk.

I botted 4 times before it was banned 2 months ago. Never botted previously in 5 years. Mined rune ess.
All 4 times were between 6pm and 9pm over a period of 2 weeks.
    First time, 1hr 50min
    Second time, 2hr 10min
    Third time, 1hr 55min
    Forth time, 2hr 30min
These time were approximate but are pretty close.

Unlucky huh.... Haven t appealed yet
    Cheers

You shouldn't have too much of a problem, I think.

I agree that a lot of bans are based off of reports, but that's not to say you can always 24/7 and get away with it.

I also think a big clue that you are a botter, or it used to be a clue at least, is that if you fail or cannot complete randoms after a long time. A human normally would easily beat the random if he or she was playing legitly, while a bot might not defeat it.

That's hard to believe. You're saying that all of the time was legit?
