The Runescape Account Market

It has to be the most viewed section of this entire website. I think we should make the normal account trading and services sections only accessable to users with active member status or above and donators, and give the newcomers their own smaller account trading/services section. Not because there's less of a chance that an active member will scam, but because ban evaders who create new accounts just to scam will be less likely to achieve that goal if they are required to get 100 posts or donate money. They have a much greater chance of being detected as a ban evader on the way to 100 post as a pose to posting once and scamming. I think this would provide a lot more sense of security because it will mean you have more to lose if you get banned, and that scammers who've been banned can't even contact the legitimate sellers. If I was just finding out about sythe and this was the way the market worked, I think it would give me great motivation to work toward that 100 post count and at the same time maintain a respectable reputation and attitude on sythe in general. Also users who have achieved the required post count can offer services/accounts in the newcomers section if they so choose. I think everybody would win this way. I also had some other little suggestions to improve the efficiency of the market. This is an example of what I have in mind.

Supporter Accounts Section (This section and all it's subsections only accessable if you have donated or achieved active member status.)
-Accountsures/skillers levels 3-69 (I think the first category should be 3-69 to better sepparate the 1 defense pures and the pures with defense.)
-Accountsures/skillers levels 70-100

-Accountsures/skillers levels 101-138

-Accounts:Other accounts levels 3-99 (The 60-99 other accounts section is the least viewed section, I think it'd be better to throw it in with the first one.)
-Accounts:Other accounts levels 100-138

Supporter User Services Section (This section and all it's subsections only accessable if you have donated or achieved active member status.)
-Account Upgrade Services

-Skill Training

-Gold Exchange(I included this one under user services because it is indeed a service. Buying and selling have been combined also.)

-Questing and Item Services (I noticed firecaping & defender services were grouped while Torso & questing services were grouped in another part. I just decided to combine them to reduce clutter. You can mention firecapes, torsos, and defenders in the info under the section.)
-Other Services (This will include item lending.)

Newcomers Market Section

-Accountsures/Skillers

-Accounts:Other

-Newcomers Services

Item Exchange(I have combined buying and selling because the vast majority of the people in this section are looking at the selling subsection. I feel having 1 would reduce clutter.)
Runescape 2 Guides

-Verified Guide Sales

-Free Guides

Miscellaneous


Anyway, these are just some ideas that I have. Feel free to consider all of my ideas not just the seggregation part of it.

 

This just rips up the market and is unfair to new members(This has also been suggested and people came to the conclusion, people will just spam other threads till there post count is up) I'm pretty sure this concept was to use the spam forum but its the same effect.

 

This will never happen, not having the entire market accessible to new users would greatly reduce site traffic. It's also on the do not suggest list.

 

Nobody is going to join this site if its llke that.

You're forgetting that theres still a market section for them. Also I've seen other sites do this.

 

I've seen these sort of suggestions several times before and I do believe Sythe is doing the right thing leaving all the market forums open to everyone. Blocking them off for members who don't have a certain postcount just causes Drama and spamming. No support.

 

The site's natural traffic is mostly from guests and lurkers,
a small fraction of those guests register here, so it would be
unfair if they registered and couldn't even use the marketplace
due to their post count, thus leading them to spam to raise their
post count.
