Will it happen?

Im so tired of these threads. 2012 wont happen. No one is smart enough to predict when the world will end.

 

A very common misconception about 2012 is that people think it's "the end of the world" as in everyone dies; 2012 is more end of the world as in a dramatic change. It doesn't necessarily mean everyone is going to die.

All computers were supposed to glitch and crash, and hence the world would collapse.

Guess what? Didn't happen.

 

Not really but there probably will be some things going on that day because all the worrys of it.

 

If you go back to religion history, there's a guy that said in Vermont that the world was going to end _____ and people believed him. He told them to sell all their stuff and give their money away. Everyone believed him because he had reasoning behind his facts. They went up the the hill, waited. Nothing happened. A few years later, he did this again, and half of the people that went the first time did it the second time. He told them to sell all their stuff, and give the money away. Then went up on top of the mountain, and waited. Nothing happened.

Third time the charm? No, it won't happen. Just because the Mayan calender ends in 2012, doesn't mean ours does.

Guess what? I'm living past 2012, whether you like it or not.

 

I don't think the world will end, but if people believe it will, they can end it themselves.

Its a marketing ploy, hence the movies etc.

 

It's not going to happen.

 

People have been predicting the end of the world since it began and every logical idea scientists have ever had about the world ending has came up false. The computers were spost to go hay-wire in 2000, and much more buy yet everybody is still here safe & sound.

 

Quite a large scale one, but I can kind of see the logic in that. I'd love to see 2012 merchandise. I think by then I would of lost all hope in the human race.

 

No. Evidence has already been found of Mayan calenders going further than 2012.

of course the world isnt going to end this soon you see the sun? its still livly as ever im guessing that it will be at least another 1,000 years before earth starts to crumble.

 

I misread the thing and put yes . I think just because one early civilizations calender ends on December 21, 2012 doesn't mean anything. For all we know it could be that they figured they would make a new one after that. I might need to do some research about the facts, but I think it is people being superstitious and believing some ridiculous calender's prediction for the end of the world.

 

Doubt the world would end tbh. But when their calender ends maybe that's when they predict that the last Mayan Descendant would die or something.

 

The idea is only so big because of the movie that came out. However we can't be sure until the date passes.

 

i would like to vote for a rare yes,as i really like the theory and culture of the maya ^^ , so i support them,but i think we will be transfer to other planet ^^
