They can be fletched into adamant arrows at level 60 Fletching when used with headless arrows, which are made by using arrow shafts with feathers, granting 150 experience per 15 arrows made. They are quite difficult to obtain via the Grand Exchange because they are at maximum price. They are commonly bought because they are one of the arrowtips that can be used to make money.

1k headless and tips=0.20
1k tips only=0.15

CALCULATIONS:
1K arrows can be made in approximately 2 minutes.
That's 30K arrows an hour.
As of 12/3/10, you make 4 gp for each arrow made.
Each arrow gives 15 exp.

30,000 x 4 = 120K CASH PROFIT an hour, assuming arrows sell for mid.
30,000 x 15 = 450K FLETCHING EXP an hour, with medium concentration.
