Is it just me or runescape is f*cked?

im sorry but why the FUCK are you whinging about jagex making their game better? everyone copies each other, its how they satisfy the fucking customers, be implementing shit that they see on other games that people LIKE.

some idiots that think that jagex should be original, why don't you go try make a game 100% original? i highly doubt you'd be able to pull that shit off. shit, why are you hating, when your getting a game thats like wow but for a third of the monthly price? go crawl back into your parents whom's and climb out when your ready to face WoR :]

 

Everyone compares rs to wow just because wow is the most popular mmorpg out there, but MANY rpg's have aspects like high hits and email login and stuff. The way I see it is that RS is maturing and becoming more mainstream, so I guess you could say that it's becoming less original, but in a lot of ways I don't mind that.

-Runescape recently changed so you have to log in with your email
just like in wow: This was for account security and to stop so many bots from creating accounts.

-Runescape hits got multiplied by 10x so the hits look similar. : They did that so hits would be easier, which they are a lot. Because now you can hit like 2.3's instead of just 2's. Makes combat quicker and more entertaining than basic numbers up to 100.

-World of Warcraft has quickchat and so does runescape now: Thats so people under the age of 13 can still play and chat.

-Runescape HD full Screen layout is nearly identical to runescape (except
Runescape has skills instead of abilities and spells): Well so is like every other MMO in it's genre. Perfect world, warhammer online, etc.

-Runescape lost its kill and loot ability in pvp(if you kill someone you dont get there items): Well you don't gain anything at all in WoW except honor. RuneScape added this so that players will still get items but they won't be able to rwt any more.

-Dungeeneoring is EXACTLY like World of Warcraft Dungeons(The Dungeon Finder that you unlock at level 15): Dungeons are not at all like WoW's. Not one bit. I have no idea where you coming to think that the dungeons in this game are even close to WoW's.

-Runescape Sound Effects when you take damage is now the same like in World of Warcraft: They just made them sound "more realistic", they're not copying WoW at all with that.

-Runescape got PVP worlds where you could fight people anywhere except for banks is pretty much the same as a PVP server in World of Warcraft (Runescape should only have one place were you could fight is the Wilderness): It's more fun to fight people all over the world rather than just in the wilderness in my opinion. They're not copying WoW at all. Pvp worlds in wow are so much different because there are 2 different fractions and you can kill at any level. Also you don't lose anything in WoW, so I don't see how these 2 can be compared at all.

-Runescape just started adding quest that give you powerful weapons and armor such as Void stares back. In wow thats pretty much how you get good items is by doing quests.: So??? Good items??? RuneScape's quests are much better than WoW's "quests" because in WoW it's "Kill X number of X" and in RuneScape there is storyline and everything to the quests.

- Runescape got the new "Developers Console" that shows your Frames per second and delay. Just what World of Warcraft always had.: This is to help players with different issues playing their game. No copying here tbh.

- World of warcraft has the thing that you can duel a character anywhere. Runescape is getting a new update that is going to let us "Challenge for fun any leveled character outside of Duel arena"
For now thats all i can think of. So you guys can add more stuff in.: In runescape classic they had dueling to. So what if WoW can duel? So can many other games.

I don't get how you can compare these games at all. Every single good MMO out there has the same system as WoW, so you can't compare it to WoW. Jagex isn't trying to copy WoW, they're trying to copy the basic MMO genre so that they can get more players. Just because WoW is the top mmo doesn't mean every other company is copying it. RuneScape is much different than WoW and people really have to stop comparing the 2.

Yeh I kinda figured this out myself a while back. I think WOW have achievements e.g. get to level 10, enter your first dungeon etc etc and now Jagex have implemented it.

This game has gone downhill ever since the removal of wilderness and trade limit. There isn't really anything fun to do anymore apart from perhaps killing monsters... Pretty much the reason I bot

Agreed. All the things the OP listed are things that make an adequate MMO. The story lines are completely different so I can't see how RS is becoming WoW. The features may resemble WoW, but so does every other big MMO.

 

Runescape has been fucked from 07' but anyway, If you really look into games they take similar concepts from other successful games.

Most of these updates were major updates to remove RWT not because they wanted to copy ideas from WoW.

 

im pleased with what runescape is at this moment... i would only fix certain things like
1. balance the combat triangle
2. tweak up the drop system to make it a little more fair
3. make the game a little less "main" biased... lets be honest... jagex hates pures

 

I voted for, "No you dumass runescape is original" because of several reasons:

1) You're really a dumbass for spelling "dumbass" wrong.

2) RuneScape is no where close to WoW in graphics, etc.

3) All I do is prod BH, make cash, go back to BH and prod some more which Jagex hasn't touched yet.
