You're botting. It doesn't matter if you are sitting at your keyboard, if you get caught, you're banned.

Also, doesn't babysitting ruin the glory of botting? I'm able to work out, work on school, and have a job while being good at RS because I bot.

    So why do people babysit?

It gets their self confidence up, then when they don't get banned they think it's because they babysat. Then they do it again.

I don't really babysit, i just check on my bots every hr or so.

Babysitting gives a sense of security.

+ it undeniably makes you more human and thus less prone to bans (via player reports) than just leaving it does.

They think that they will help not to get banned. There were some acidents when babysitter was botting and mod came and asked him to answer and he did.Sometimes when botter not answer they get banned, but its not hapening many times and mod not coming to everyone.

But if you babysit you might as well do it yourself and not risk the ban in the first place.

Reason why I made this thread is because I say someone say

"Yeah I'm not banned yet because I stare at my bot while it's running, and if someone asks me something I reply"

Wtf is wrong with that picture?

I babysit, but that doesn't mean I just stare at the bot and watch it work.

I watch movies and stuff while checking in on bot every so often (helps to have 2 monitors: 1 for bot, 1 for movie). I just make sure to respond to all pm's, and send a few myself.

Meh, it makes that you're just lazy and don't want to do it yourself so you bot, but you respond to all the little actions.

    Basically, here's how it works.
If you don't get reported for botting, there is a HIGHLY unlikely chance you will get banned. (Unless of course you've botting for say 30+ hours straight.)

If nobody reports you, Jagex isn't going to track your account for botting. Once you get reported, Jagex will start logging your account to see if you really are a macro.

So, if you "babysit" and speak to people when they talk to you etc etc etc., you won't get reported, hence, no ban.

I honestly thought that was babysitting. I usually do that. Whenever I'm working out, doing homework or playing Xbox, it's all near my Laptop, so I just check on it every 15 minutes or so and if it gets caught in a random that the bot can't complete, I pause the script, complete the random and then let the bot do it's thing again. Sitting there and watching the bot is pointless and if you're using free scripts, usually you will get faster speeds if you just play the game yourself. Either way, if you get caught, you get banned. I see no need for just sitting there and watching the bots.

You think they don't know when you login with a client? They do.

You think just because you aren't reported you won't be banned? Not true.

So no, it hardly makes botting any safer. Botting is botting, everyone is eventually caught, whether it be a year or a week.

That's checking on your bots, everyone checks once in awhile. However, when people 'babysit' they pretty much obsess over watching their bots.

This is were you & many others are wrong, I have been autoing since RSC. Babysitting is quiet useful, EACH time I Auto I always have my laptop next to me, To chat, Stop for a second. Babysitting is indeed a good idea, & if you still get ban, Thats because you didn't do it right. I have never even had an account ban for autoing... & thats been a lot of accounts

Jagex is unable to tell if you log in with a client. If that is the case, You we would all get ban. Think before you speak child

You call me a child? You think Jagex can't tell when someone logs into Runescape with something other than an internet browser? You underestimate Jagex, along with many others.

Just logging in from a client isn't enough to ban, you could be logging in from SK, or a self owned client.

it depends on what you count as babysitting, i will often set up my bot to run and watch it for the first 10/15 minutes to check it is all running smoothly and then will check back every now and again.

    as for you claiming:

"So no, it hardly makes botting any safer. Botting is botting, everyone is eventually caught, whether it be a year or a week."

if you babysit you talk and therefore will not have player reports that will flag your account. if you don't get flagged by player reports it will drastically reduce chances of a ban. although you still stand a chance of being banned.

having said that i do agree that if your botting there is no point babysitting just do it yourself, but i do think that although people say they babysit they mean check up on the the bot whilst working watching tv etc.

I do what you do, I check my bot for the first 15 mins, then check every 3 hours or so afterwards.

Now, if you were babysitting a child, would you just check up on him every hour or so? No. You would watch him and make sure that he is ok and not getting in trouble.

When you babysit you watch the bot(you don't have to stare) but you check on it every 5 mins.

    Sorta OCD style.

There are thousands of members logging in. They can't check everybody; So they rely on reports to speed the process up. Reports are the things that are getting botters banned.
