Clean The Rare section

selling section is more busy then buying because there are more buyers then sellers. if i wanted a blue phat i would look in the selling section to see if anyone was selling b4 making my own thread and hope that a good legitimate seller who i would trust finds it. in my opinion thats why the selling section is much more active. also i think this would cause more congestion.

the rs forums are like this and i prefer sythe over them. also prices are not fixed and anyone can buy or sell an item for whatever they beleive it is worth.

I think it would actually speed up the forum and get many more trades done than presently. It would identify scammers and they would become known because all the traders would be compressed into one section.

I disagree.

I think Classic is right and it will end up like the RSOF - all cluttered and disorganized. It's fine as it is. If you're buying something, you can post in the buying section and browse the selling section; if you're selling something you can post in the selling section and browse the buying section.

 

But if you are selling something would you tell me to browse the buying?

and how in the world would it be cluttered? it works great on the runescape forums.

 

If you are selling something you'd browse the buying to check if anyone was buying what you are selling, so as to possibly speed up your sale.

And, I think the RSOF are very cluttered and quite shitty. I don't like the system at all.

I love this idea, AS LONG AS, you have to label your buying/selling with a [Buying] or whatever.
He has a point with the active users in the section, I've noticed it for awhile.

I do not support i think its a waste of time and effort just to make this improvement.

 

Please give some reasons why it would be waste of time and effort?

It will enhance the most active bit of sythe it will also;

1. Make trades much faster
2. Make ur thread seen by alot more people.
3. Scammers will be identified quickly meaning less Scammer accusations.
4. It will be Simple and look very organised.
5. People will know what prices of things are going for.
6. Activity will be even greater.
7. The community will become tight.
8. Everyone will know each other.
etc...

There are SO many great bonuses that come with this improvement. Its a shame you cannot see that. I hope it will be implemented and that i could get some sort of responce from Finn.

 

Perhaps instead of posting in the "Buying" section, you could do a "search" so that the results related to what you're buying show up.

Also with regards to a few of your points about the community becomming more "tight". If the community only pays attention to the "selling" section, then it is likely that a merging of the two sub-forums will only result in the "selling" community posting both "buying" and "selling" threads, thus not increasing the communities cohesion at all.

 

There isnt going to be any Sub-forums.

Everyone will be packed into an "Item exchange" and from there you'll be pulled straight into the market. You will see Threads ideally starting with "buying" and threads starting with "selling".

So you got a blue partyhat and you wanting to sell you'd go to item exchange and write;

"Selling" Blue partyhat. <--- That simple.

merging the two together will compress the people off buying and selling as one therefore increasing the activity levels and it will also be favoured more than other sites which in turn will make sythe THE place to be to sell rares.

 

If they join the two together, then threads will go to second page incredibly fast. There is the bump every 24 hour rule. I think something should be done, but the 24 hour rule should be changed to 12 or so if this is done.
